I loved how the lady greet us from lobby and we went to Café Renaissance for the 1st time to visit this restaurant. The food was good, we love the desserts 🧁 and steamed lobster. We were enjoying our food until the server Luke, came to our table asking how we would like to pay and if we have hong kong bank, he didn’t explain properly why we need to pay immediately, we didn’t even ask for the bill. We were all confused and gave him our card to pay. He asked “Is this a Hong Kong bank card?” to which we were confused as to knowing its Standard Charter. Eventhough, the 10% discount was added, it was the same amount added to the total price for service charge. Nevertheless, we paid the bill but couldn’t understand why we were demanded to pay the bill whilst we were still eating and we hadn’t been there an hour and a half. Our server said he could cancel the payment as we were still eating, however we knew we would still have to pay at the end so what was the point cancelling it?
After paying the bill, we were all put off eating the rest of our dinner buffet. It was embarrassing for us as many other staff were watching us eat and the other customers were watching us explain to the Manager Edwin, as to why we were demanded the bill halfway through eating. The manager was explaining to us that it was a miss understanding from another table that was on the other side of the restaurant that asked for the bill.
The service wasn’t great at all. We asked for cold water multiple times and never got any. After the conversation with the Manager, we randomly got 3 cups of orange juice to the table which none of us asked for or drank.
Overall, the food was good but the service was poor and the communication between the staffs was terrible. We decided to have a drink at The Mirage. The service was impeccable and the drinks were...

Poor table arrangement - full paid (over $700 per person) for the buffet but was assigned a table outside of the restaurant (outside the reception of the restaurant like temporary set up area). The ridiculous thing is to give those who made early booking but last-minute cancellation a better spot closer to the buffet tables leaving many available table in the restaurant. Poor food arrangement, not in logical order - there are always long queue for all food, food serving time is longer than buffets in other hotel. For example, at least 10 mins for half piece of the lobster, 5 min for sea urchin, 3 min for a small piece of beef but 60% of it is fat, not sure if this is their strategy for serving food slowly. Client service representative not well trained - told the customer that there is no complimentary birthday cake and only can offer a birthday chocolate tag. This restaurant offers complimentary birthday cake indeed. Some of the male servers (they look like supervisor or manager) responded to questions in an either rude or ignorant manner. Extremely unprofessional. In additional, the woman who distributes steamed lobster is also rude...

Lunch buffet have many kinds of salad ingredients, with sushi and sashimi, cold dishes (shrimps, clams, snails, legs of Snow Crab 松葉蟹), hot dishes, and disserts ...
Pork Liver Terrine (豬肝醬) eat with biscuits are the top memorizing one. It's quite smooth and rich in flavour. I suppose it was the Goose Liver Terrine.
Second best are the legs of Snow Crab and sushi. Both are fresh and tasty.
Most of the desserts are great. Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake and Mille Feuille (法式拿破崙) are gergious and must try. Former have many texture and have sweet and sour taste. Rich in chocolate favour. Latter is freshly make. Crispy on outside and soft on inside.
Service is great. Even though I have late for 17min. They still reserve the tables. Staff are very polite and tidyup the dishes quickly.
Restaurant is around 40% fully. Love it very cozy. No need to "fight" for the food. You can just enjoy the food and...
