I booked a table at 8:30, came in 8:15 because I knew it was usually crowded and seats were not guaranteed even though we already booked ahead of time. When it was 8:35, there was no seat yet but one group of guests was leaving. There were no people waiting, so I supposed that table would be my table. At this time, two Korean people came in claiming that they have booked a table, but I have checked the booking book in front of me, no other two people booked. The Korean manager lady immediately gave them the seats even other staff were suggesting I have been waited for long.
The manager lady absolutely refused me to enter, saying I should have my friend ready there in order to get the seats. I told her my friend was getting up now from the station but she still refused my request. If everyone needs to be present in order to get the seat, why people getting a private room got to take the seats with only a few people arrived first?
I asked her why she couldn’t wait for a bit longer. She refused to answer but shouted at me, hit my hand away told me to shut up, yelling at me saying ‘if you don’t like just don’t eat here and go!’
What kind of service was this? And this was not my first time to be treated by her like this. Last time we waited for one hour to get the seats and she wanted to give the seats to one group of Korean men who just entered from lift. Luckily I insisted to get the seats so she gave us but asking us to order more…
I liked here not only because of the food but also because of the kind service before. Being not fair, showing preference to people who look like to pay more, being extremely rude to customers…… I am feeling really sad and disappointed to this restaurant. I have introduced so many of my friends to this place but now I’m not feeling like to visit any more. I guess they don’t even care about losing one customer like me but hey, you could have done better :(
Updates after 7 months. 26/1/2024
Went again tonight, disappointed to see the same lady still there ‘welcoming’ customers, also a bit surprised that she issues waiting tickets to us now.
I thought they had thought about improving their services but she proved me wrong again.
We waited and waited, holding the ticket no.1. A family of four came, without booking, got seated immediately. All the groups awaiting for seats were not convinced. Even the waiter inside complained to her that we should get a seat first. Similar plots…. Does she get deja-vu?
She then came to tell all of us who were waiting there:” if you don’t order a lot i won’t give you a table since we are so busy!”
What?! I don’t get it! But thanks her to be so honest this time. At least she told us what’s the real rule of getting a table. Forget about the waiting tickets, that’s...
Read moreThis restaurant has just committed an act of disgrace and discrimination. We urge all potential customers to overlook this restaurant and find another establishment in this area, as what happened to us will also happen to you. On Thursday night, 4th January, 2023, our small family of 3 arrived at this establishment at approx. 7:45pm. The waitress promptly seated us at a table and threw down the menus.Ignoring the fact that this seemed a bit rude, we went ahead and decide what to eat from the menu as we were eager to order. However, none of the waitress came over to take our order for over 5 minutes until the "manager" came over to our table, removed us to the adjacent table of 2 (Yes! Very cramped!) and seated a party of 3 O.L's to the original table that we sat. My wife and kid felt very violated and disrespected with this treatment whilst none of the other waitress even took any notice. IN SHOCK to the treatment we received, we gather our thoughts and belongings, and left this establishment - very unhappy, and my 12 y.o crying...thanks to that incident that ruined our Friday night out. I recommend no family should be treated this way by a restaurant and no one should come to this restaurant as it lacked the respect to provide any decent service, which overshadows all the good reviews that this restaurant received so far, making al the reviews seems fake...
Read moreI have been to enough korean restaurants to know the difference between authentic and touristy at best. I also usually review the worse or the best and Han Ga Ram is definitely the latter. Authentic dishes, good portions and great value for money. Another guest mentioned the bad service a while back but my experience was the opposite. Very professional, nothing rushed. Our waitress, Shim, who was korean by the way when asked about the BBQ meat simply called over the manager, John, who immediately took charge and answered my questions in a detailed clear manner. It was odd that the meat selection didn't specify the size of the portions, but John immediately consulted the chef and came back with the exact size of the portions which ranged from 150-210 grams. The setting was comfortable; the music , korean I might add , played low in the background. My son's first time dining experience with korean BBQ and he loved it. Shim gave us a master class of sorts. The whole meal was a feast for the eyes and senses. On the down side the tubboki sauce was runny and of course the cheese solidified on top, and the kimchi..I have made enough kimchi myself to say with absolute certainty that it wasn't as good as I had hoped..very basic recipe. But kimchi is an acquired taste..I like mine strong and on the mature side. A great afternoon over all, and highly...
