Came after reading a great food review. Very disappointed. The restaurant markets and anchors itself on one dish — roasted Peking duck. The duck unfortunately was cut and the meat “dug out” in a butchered manner, without factoring in the direction of the meat pattern, the thickness of a slice, nor a balance between fat and meat. The skin is not crispy. The wrap (quite elegantly and delicately done) was brought out right upon ordering; so by the time the duck was served they were cold and dull. Tried its other signature dish - braised ham with honey sauce. The dish is rather average, blend, missing the typical salty-sweet balance expected of this dish.

Also, it is with the flavour of vinasse which is so special😍 Indeed, it is so tasty! Once I put it into my mouth, the oil spouted out!🤤 Also, each slide of Peking Duck is not just the skin of duck but also duck meat. The duck meat was so tender!👍🏻 Worth mentioning that the wrap was chewy and the side dish was special👏🏻 One of the side dish was cantaloupe! Never thought that it could match with duck😍 The Deep-fried Fish in Sweet and Sour Sauce was so crispy👏🏻 There was no bone in this fish so that I don’t have to eat it carefully.👍🏻 Although the sweet and sour sauce was so appetising, it was a bit too sweet.🥲 The Steamed Pork Dumplings were so juicy😍😍 Although the dumpling skin was not so thin, it was so moist. So adorable🤣 The step of making Deep-fried Souffle Ball with Mashed Red Bean should be the most complicated among all Chinese desserts. However, this restaurant did a good job 👍🏻👍🏻 The texture of deep-fried soufflé ball was like Chinese donut but it was filled with mashed red bean and banana🍌🤣 The Tangerine and Plum Tea was so refreshing which balanced with the oil of Peking Duck.👍🏻

It's a nice place, albeit not a place that you'd visually find when walking past the streets. The restaurant is nested on the 19th storey of the building, which also means you'll need to know that they're here or else risk not knowing the fact at all. Got ourselves a table for lunch, ordered some Peking duck, some other dishes, and enjoyed our conversations together. Every dish was above average, not mind-blowing per se, but they work well together. Given that the price point ain't cheap-cheap, they're also generally a little less crowded compared to other food options around here at Wan Chai.

The service was appalling for a restaurant, it was more like a Cafe de Coral than a proper restaurant, flinging your dishes at you as if in a fast food place. The main restaurant was full so we had to eat in a Japanese restaurant downstairs. The best part was when the wraps for the Peking duck had a dead cockroach inside. I was so horrified I forgot to take a photo but the waitress took it away without an apology and simply replaced it with a new lot. You would have thought the manager would have come and at least apologised or acknowledged the issue but they basically just carried on treating all their guests like Basil Fawlty and Manuel in Fawlty Towers.

The Peking duck was pretty yummy before we found the cockroach.

Dinner was HKD 800 for 3 people with no alcohol....

Waitress took 15 minutes to come and take my order. The short ribs were overcooked and the honey glaze was overpowering the flavor of the meat. The duck was bland and flavorless, definitely needed salt. Good fattiness to meat ratio though. The chili wontons were so BLAND. It tasted like the wontons were boiled in water and then thrown into the sauce. Meaning, the wontons tasted like water. The flavor was nonexistent. The sauce had Thai chilis in it, which just doesn’t make sense as this is a Chinese restaurant. The vegetables we ordered also came in last which took over 20+ minutes. Overall EXTREMELY disappointing for the price. 3/10 meal. I’ve had better food and...
