I was at Passion Lee Tung Avenue, and writing about a staff working on the 1st floor on 27 August. I arrived at the restaurant at 4.15pm and bought myself a cup of coffee and sat at a 4 seater table. There were several other tables occupied before I arrived. At around 5.30pm, one of the staff commenced setting the vacant tables, including other occupied tables and also my table. The staff did not say anything to me while setting the table. While I thought that was not appropriate as the staff did not ask me if I was finished or even ask if she could set the table, I kept quiet. The staff then proceeded to place a “reserved” sign on the table I was seating at. There were many other unoccupied tables but the staff chose to put the reserve sign on my table. At this point, I felt extremely offended. I proceeded to tell the staff that I found that action very inappropriate and I was very offended. I immediately left and proceeded to the ground floor. I approached the Manager on the ground floor and informed him of the incident and promptly left after that. While there were no words uttered by the staff, the action of setting the table without my permission already indicated disrespect to my presence as a customer there. To make it worse, she then put a reserved tag on my table, indicating that the table should not be occupied and I was not welcomed there. The staff could have easily told me that they needed to get the area ready for the next service and if it was restaurant policy that I leave, she could have told me so. Instead she took the said actions showing deep disdain for my presence, actions which was akin to saying “get lost, you are not welcomed here”. Even humbler eating establishments have more...
Read moreUsed to be my "go to" for the small salads. I have never experienced them 'weighing' the serving before. Usually the servers are quite generous and they do fill the small box sufficiently. I dont expect a loaded plate or box and I never have an argument as the quality is satisfactory for the price. Recently at Cityplaza outlet, the customer before me they did not weigh the salad serving but when it came to my turn the server insisted of weighing and when I wanted more of one she actually reduced the other salad portion. The overall portion was quite less than what I am used to having. when I objected the attitude of the server was not great and acted like I was demanding more than what they serve. This really turned me off Passion as I fund this quite discriminatory. I never...
Read morePassion by Gerard Dubois is a French cafe and pastry shop that has done very well in Hong Kong. This branch is located at the Lee Tung Avenue in Wan Chai. There is upstairs indoor and outdoor seating available at this Passion. Food on offer is the same as what you find at their other branches. They offer fresh salads, sandwiches and other cooked food orders that taste very good.
We most like to visit Passion for their morning pastries, breads and sweet orders. They serve illy brand coffee as well. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food served at Passion.
Passion is a good option for those staying in the Wan Chai area around Queen's East Road, looking for a European style pâtisserie. There is also a good Le Pain Quotidien (LPQ) open at the other end of the Lee...
