Rokkaku — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Me and my wife travel the world and try different restaurants, we also have more than 30 years of F&B experience combines. This was an amazing family style counter Jap place with great service and quality, very rare experience.

Great selection of different food, quality is amazing and would suggest the chef selection over and over, sea urchins to die for. One of the best experiences we had dining in HK, and thank for the sesame mochi 😉

Might be good to add some more tourist friendly tastings to make to more accessible to others and would be nice to see a premium omakase tasting and maybe more choice for J spirit like shochu or whisky highballs.

There many nice Japanese restaurants nearby. Unless one is happy to have terrible service from waitress with an attitude. Asked about details of types of fish in the sashimi bowl. The waitress unwilling to give details or find out. Just yelling out ‘a few types of fish’. The guy next to me waited for 30 mins for his grilled mackerel set lunch. He didn’t get a word of ‘sorry for keeping you wait’. Japanese standards of hospitality doesn’t exist...

Frankly, the food is excellent value and could cost 50% more and still be satisfied. Jennifer's answer below must have been a one-off, or she was expecting much more. The Omekase for lunch is only $480pp so perhaps she went for dinner and was disappointed. I shall return regularly as it is the best sushi place (for food in the area).
