A group of 5 came here on a Friday eve, everything was really nice. We ordered a bottle of sake and plenty of snacks. With the second bottle of sake, the staff brought as snacks we had not ordered, and said: this is from the house. As we planned to leave, someone paid and everything was still fine. But because we had such a good time, we decided to stay and ordered another bottle of sake. Again, they brought out snacks we had not ordered, but this time, they did not say: this is from the house.

Now this is very personal: I think this is a sort of scam. And when I go out with friends, I do not want to be watching the whole time if staff is trying to scam me. I want to have a good time. That this establishment has to resort to this tactic to create extra revenue, is deplorable. Had they not scammed us, it would have been a 5 star review! Gonna admit there are a lot of Japanese people visiting this restaurant. I think the vibe and food they served really resembles the izakaya in Japan. They are famous for their deep fried skewers. I ordered Japanese egg pork roll and fried cheese salmon. Despite being deep fried, it is not greasy. The taste is rather plain so you have to dip into the special soy sauce The other dishes are not as good as the fried stuff. Mentaiko egg roll is loaded with mentaiko but the taste of the egg isn’t strong enough. The panfried seafood mentaiko is a bit mushy and too soft. The panfried pork soup noodles is the worst. A Japanese deep fried skewer restaurant, operated by Japanese. There are always many Japanese customers, you know this is gonna be good. Don’t get confused with tempura, all the deep fried foods are covered in a thin and crispy breadcrumb, served in a skewer and cook to perfection.
