For some reason I like this burger store more than the fancier places like Shake Shack and Five Guys. There is something about this hole-in-the-wall that just make it a less stressful place to eat. Even during lunch rush hour, the shop is rarely full. They do have about 9 small tables and can fit around 20-25 people. Each table has a bottle of ketchup which is convenient. Most people buy take out. Their burgers are similarly priced to Shake Shack. But I find their patties to be flatter and meatier. Their burgers have plenty of fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The thin slice of dill pickle that they sandwich between the folds of the wrapper is a nice touch. (10 years ago when I first ate at this place, they served an entire wedge of pickle.) Their milk shakes are nothing to write home about. Nuggets and fries are pretty good.
Since I work in a nearby office, I'd much rather walk under the covered walkways than venture off to the other burger joints. This place hits the spot every time I have a...
Read moreThis is a Canadian burger joint that has been around Hong Kong for a while now. They presently have two places on HK Island at Pacific Place in Admiralty and this branch at the Harbour Centre in Wanchai. Opening hours are 8am to 9pm (weekdays) and 11am to 8pm (weekends).
Basically, Triple O's is better than McD but more expensive. They are roughly priced at the same levels as Shake Shack and Five Guys, which is better is a personal preference. If one or the other is nearer, just go there.
I recently had lunch here recently and tried their Veggie Burger, which was ok. They use a garden style patty that didn't have much taste but made for a healthier alternative to beef burgers. Fries are pretty good at Triple O's and they are generous with the ketchup which is rare in Hong Kong. Service is normal for burger restaurants. Potentially worth a try if you have a burger craving and are...
Read moreThe food tastes oddly similar to Wendy’s restaurants back in Canada, but they charge the equivalent of $10 CDN (or more) for a basic burger! (I guess you’re paying for that authentic “western” quality/atmosphere, in a place where the tent is probably astronomically high.)
We stopped in here on a sweltering summer afternoon for snacks and shakes, and while the hospitality and food quality were both on point, it was definitely expensive. The restrooms, accessed via key a couple of hallways away, were VERY clean by overall HK standards (no smell, no splatter, comfy toilet paper provided).
As a specific nitpick: they claim to make their milkshakes from “premium” ice cream, but it didn’t taste like Breyer’s or any of the better Canadian brands. It tasted like your standard cheap bucket ‘o ice cream from Superstore. Pretty sure that doesn’t qualify as premium in Hong...
