The clear broth was very beefy in flavour, suggesting many hour of slow cooking. The thin wonton noodles were cooked to al dente. It was good. The house chili oil enhanced the beef components. The blanched choi sum was a generous serving and available in choice of oyster sauce or beef sauce, cooked to bright green and tender (HKD$20). Service was friendly efficient and included a smile! Genuinely friendly service, which was unexpected given how it's located on the ground floor of a busy main street. I expected the "clear soup" (as stated in the restaurant name) to be the typical clear, bland soup, probably made from powder. I was wrong. It was a clean, flavorful broth that complemented the beef stew, tendon, and tripe well. At some places, they add in the "sauce" which the beef parts are continuously stewed in, which it kicks the soup a powerful punch, it can be too much (and salty and oily). Not at this place. Don’t expect “western” hospitality but for Hongkong style, the waitress was very very friendly. Beware: No English! 😆 but this is the way to experience Hongkong homestyle, authentic food. No English restaurants = real deal. You also get seated with strangers 😆 I don’t mind. This is cultural experience!

The tendon beef ball noodle was so savory. It is very light broth, not salty (savory but not salty), not oily, it’s just perfect. Price was amazing. They also have happy hour options for combo food + drink.

I wish I stay in HK longer but I’m here only for transit. I would like to try more food here. Definitely will come...
