A flavorful experience with room for improvement in service
I recently visited this Korean restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the food. The clam noodle is absolutely my favorite — rich, flavorful, and comforting. As a nice touch, ordering noodles comes with a small portion of rice and some kimchi, which adds a bit of variety to the meal. The food, while slightly on the salty side, is overall tasty and satisfying.
The interior of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. It has a cozy and authentic feel that really captures the atmosphere of a traditional Korean spot.
However, I did notice the service was a bit unusual. The staff were quiet and seemed distant. For example, when I asked a waitress for water, she didn’t respond and just walked past me. I assumed she hadn’t heard me, but a few minutes later she returned with a jar and a cup — still without saying a word. Later, I saw her chatting with coworkers, so I realized this wasn’t due to any communication barrier. It seems like the staff are young and possibly inexperienced, maybe just shy or self-conscious.
While it’s hard to call the service “poor,” there’s definitely a sense of discomfort in how the staff interact with customers — or rather, how they don't. It feels like there's a wall of distance, which can make the dining experience feel a bit awkward.
Overall, I’d come back for the food, especially the clam noodle. If the staff can grow more confident and engaged, this place has the potential to...
Read moreVery bad compared to North Point branch of the same shop. I am lucky I did not bring anyone here and went by myself first.
Never order kimchi cold noodles here, the noodles are rubbery, there is WAY too much soup, there is a tiny sprinkle of beef, and the oily taste (you can see big oil bubbles in the liquid) is completely off. The aftertaste is even more disgusting, and it lingers.
Not even close to how it is in Seoul, if you have ever been. This restaurant is like Korean food for people who have no idea what Korean food is supposed to taste like, if you want them to think it is horrible then bring them here!
Unlike NP this shop does not provide napkins unless you request it, but this is just because it’s Mong Kok and there is a specific audience.
There is no reason for people to queue here. The barrage of 5 stars? I sincerely doubt authenticity. I leave two stars in case they have some fantastic dish, but what I tried feels like the chef is drunk. It reduced my opinion of the entire...
Read moreI’ve been hearing a lot about this Korean beef broth ramen shop on YouTube. It’s always packed during lunch and dinner, so I decided to check it out when I woke up around 11 am.
The shop was super clean and tidy, and they played some really cool K-pop music in the background. You can buy a $1 dollar coffee, and it’s really strong and delicious. I ordered the signature beef bone broth noodle for $79. The kimchi was amazing! The broth was original and not too seasoned, so you can add salt and pepper to taste. It was okay, but they also gave you a small bowl of rice that you could serve with the soup. The noodles were really chewy and flavorful. Overall, it was a good and convenient meal, but it wasn’t as good as the YouTubers made...
