Art of Dessert 仁之初 was a gem, a surprise, serving, among others, walnut paste, almond paste--traditional dessert (糖水.)Such pastes are, nowadays, hard to find, even in Guangzhou.
The pastes are of the right texture--smooth, not grainy. They are flavourful of almond and walnut, respectively. The 湯圓 -- dumplings are smooth, sesame content is rich in sesame flavour and taste, far superior than that of the popular 松記。 The shop is simply renovated and cozy. Others could not lean on, and rub on your back. It's our favourite, shop for such traditional desserts. We wouldn't help but compare other shops with the Art of Dessert, but no one has been found...

It wasn't busy as it was still early. We ordered Sweet Green Bean Soup with Lily Bulb and Rue (百合香草綠豆沙), Sweet Red Bean Soup with Lotus Seeds and Dried Orange Peel (蓮子陳皮紅豆沙), and Glutinous Rice Balls with Black Sesame Paste Filling in Ginger Syrup (董汁芝麻湯丸).
