Worst experience ever. Any foreigners visiting here might have had the similar experience as I did. The food wasn’t bad, but the woman at the cashier was so rude, which made me to decide never to visit here again. First, there wasn’t any explanation on how to order and pay(well, there was a QR code on each table, but not everyone is so familiar with ordering and paying with it right away, isn’t it?) I chose to pay cash and waited, but the cashier lady informed us that we need to pay first after several minutes passed. That was okay, since it can happen. However, she interupted us while eating, saying that we need to order one dish per person.(One of us wasn’t here while the cashier lady told us to pay, but he was totally here while we were waiting and sitted.) It was fine, we kinda felt it was our mistake. HOWEVER, it felt so unappropriate of her to stare at us while we were eating. We felt uncomfortable and somewhat seemed like she wanted to nitpick about any other “mistake” that makes her “dissappointed” 😒

But when it comes to taste of the dessert, I’ve to admit this is good. I never understood the concept of dessert. I’ve had my meal, why the need for dessert after that? But I would walk in a Kai Kai dessert mid way through a shopping trip to replenish my carbs and rest my feet. The fragrance of sesame explodes in the mouth upon every bite. I chewed on slowly just to appreciate every dumplings. While some comment it to be watery, I love it. Cannot imagine it being starchy. Portion isn’t big, just nice to appreciate the dessert and doesn’t...
Read moreThis branch of Kai Kai Dessert in Mong Kok has the most courteous and polite manager I’ve ever met in Hong Kong. I would happily pay double the amount for the dessert simply because of the extra service I get from him.
If you are a tourist visiting Mong Kok and feel intimidated by the infamous Cantonese Curtness in the service industry, then please visit this establishment for a breather from the hectic atmosphere outside.
The glutinous rice dumplings in sweet ginger soup is the best I’ve ever had. Choose this dessert and something else...
