The Tai Pan Terrace — Restaurant in Hong Kong

I’m usually not one to give bad review. The food was ok and the atmosphere was great. The service was another thing. Seems they are very understaffed, and not well trained. Service was slow to start. We were a group of 7. We ordered two 3 course set lunch and three pizzas and some other stuff. The food was slow to start. We had 2 bottles of sparkling water, beer and wine. No staff came to check on us during the meal. The water bottles were emptied. We could have spent more money ordering water and drinks yet no one came to check on us. And when we were done with the main course no one came around to clear the table. The kids ordered some venchi ice cream which had a significant markup compared to the venchi store. And the portion was so small. Obviously no staff remembered there were two set meals which included dessert, so no set menu dessert was served. One of the kids ordered a tiramisu, the staff who served it tried to undo the plastic wrap around the cake with one hand which basically disassembled/butchered the top of the tiramisu. He should have put down his tray and used two hands to unwrap the cake or have the cake unwrapped before serving it. Basically the staff should have practiced serving it. We didn’t have much time so we didn’t bothered to ask for the set dessert. Then came the bill which took a long time to come. And when I checked the bill (which I don’t usually do) the set menu was billed as a la carte. We raised this to the staff and they went back to sort it out. After a while, they came back and told me they took out 6 items off the bill and charged 2 set meals. They should have figured which items were set meals and charged us properly.

Pizzeria at Cotton Tree Terrace is an outdoor restaurant located in Murray, having really beautiful green environment with many plants surrounding you, it’s so relaxing sitting here and read a book haa

There’re many pizza choices. And we picked some to try. First one is Margherita making of mozzarella, parmigiano, tomato sauce and basil, the base is super yummy well mixed with different cheeses

Carbonara making of mozzarella, parmigiano, pecorino, guanciale, black pepper, egg, i like this one so much even its a bit salty, pork meats intensifies the pizza flavor, bacon tastes good too

Rutti Di Mare making of tomatoes sauce, squids, shrimps, blue mussels, fresh dills, saffrons aliolis, tasting just ok, having strong tomatoes sauces and many seafood

Honey Garlic Chicken smell super good and tastes yummy yummy too haa, crispy outsides, on top having many sesames, the flavor is goodgood yaya, such a good appetizer

The environment is so good and chilling here, the young waiter is so gentle and polite, the pizza quality isn’t bad, but better having more food choicesxd

The fritto misto tastes decent, however the lemon is unsqueezable.

The pizza friarelli is way too oily, just feel like my slices are swimming in a oil tank. The toppings quality are quite nice, love the generous amount of friarelli.

$60 supplement for the dessert, the potion is so small. Said it would be a lemon sorbet which turned out into a lime sorbet. The flavor of lemon and ricotta are way too subtle, just a hint of cheese sourness, kinda like a less sweet, less dense version of a New York cheesecake. The cake is falling apart, and it is not sticking to the crust. Kinda regret to pay extra for this dessert.🥲

Just to remind it is a outdoor dining place, I sat next to someone who is a huge smoker and I felt so bad for my lung. The place was quite packed so I did not request to change the seating, so bless you with not going home smelling...
