After going to this place 4 times I decided to leave this review so I am being as honest and forgiving as possible. The Korean food at this place is very good and made to a high standard but the service from all the staff here is terrible and negatively affects what could be a great experience. The staff are rude and make you feel unwelcome to dine here which is a real shame since the restaurant itself is very clean and maintained to a high standard. Having lived in Korea for 12 years and being married to a Korean, I know that part of the pleasure of dining at a Korean restaurant is how good Korean service is but here it is non-existent. The last time we came for lunch we arrived just after 2pm and we’re told barbecue only! lunch is finished but I told them your hours for lunch finish at 3pm as advertised so they said ok you can have the lunch menu?? Every time we have come here they have tried to push the barbecue menu on us which starts at like 200$ per person and seem disappointed if you order anything less. There is no welcome and the first question is always “do you have a booking?” Even if the restaurant is empty. When food is ordered or delivered there is no ‘enjoy your meal’ or even a simple thank you when paying. It’s hard to believe that the owners are Korean since they lack any kind, warm, polite, Korean hospitality that I have known and become accustomed to while living in there for so many years. I recommend going here once to try the food since it is good but once bitten, twice shy...

Horrible service. My wife went there with her brother. The server did not take their time to take their order. They assumed my wife and her brother did not speak English, because my wife tried to communicate with them in Mandarin. The server could have asked my wife if she speaks English. Poor communication. The server pressured my wife to order extra food and didn’t serve the dish. The server still added the item onto the bill even though they did NOT serve the food. Furthermore, the server gave my wife the bill before they even finished eating. The servers did not bring the credit card machine to them and asked them to pay at the front. However, the table beside got to pay their bill at their table. I find the servers have double standards and borderline racist .There are other better Korean BBQ restaurants than this. I do NOT recommend anyone, especially tourists, to go there! It is a waste of time and money! The servers should go back to preschool school learn...

A group of 4 of us went in late around 1130pm. I chose this place because it was open late. We weren't that hungry, just wanted some snacks. They asked us at least 3 times if we're going to bbq but we kept saying no. We ordered 3 items. We were literally the only table in the whole restaurant but the waitress wouldn't bring us our banchan until we saw someone tell her to. They brought us our food and helped separate the noodles in 4 bowls and another lady came to help. She said 4 people 3 dishes?? And she started mixing our noodles obviously so angry that she was shaking. We said it's fine, we'll separate it ourselves. It was late at night and we were the only paying customers, if they didn't want us there they should just close earlier. They were already annoyed when we said we weren't going to bbq and it was so negative from the beginning. If they don't want people to share they can put a minimum limit charge per person...

There're lots of Korean restaurants in Hong Kong and then there's the "real Korean restaurant". Korea is a popular cuisine in Hong Kong but many are a local adaptation of Korean dishes meaning you will not find the real authentic taste of Hong Kong if you just randomly wander into one of those. Thankfully Bong Ga is not one of those, the is a Korean restaurant recommended and regularly patron by real Korean people. Just looking at the menu and seeing raw soy crab alone you will know how seriously authentic this restaurant is, along with the traditional korean grilled eel you are in for a treat. The food is simply amazing and authentic. Moreover, the service levels are impeccable, the staff there will cook the eel and barbeque meats for you to perfection, whilst you eagarly shove all the amazing food and side dishes into your stomach. After you finish you only wished you had a bigger stomach for more. This is the real deal!

Very unpleasant experience, the building where the restaurant located was very old and rundown, the lift was very dirty and had really bad smell. Upon arrival, the restaurant it was was rather dirty and the floor was slippery. Extremely rude staff towards the end of the meal, the staff picked up my own chopsticks and used it to pick up a piece of grilled eel and placed on my plate , then used the same chopsticks which already has my saliva on, it was extremely unhygienic, I had to tell her sternly to stop a few times and her attitude was bad. It was how they push the customers to return the table. My meal was almost HK$2000 and for this price I could have gone to a hotel restaurant with superb service and food. Restaurant is very dirty, not clean. Will definitely ban this place

Food was great, we had authentic BBQ. Service was atrocious! They forgot our drinks and rice, which I can understand since the restaurant was busy. But one of the waitresses was really rude to us when we told her that she forgot the rest of our order. She grilled the meat for us which was nice but she grilled it all at once and then turned off the stove completely and the meat went cold before we could eat it. They kicked us (and 5 other tables) out of the restaurant before we were done eating. Us and the table next to us asked for takeout boxes and then the lady said each takeout box is 2HKD in a rude way. I put the money on the table but when we left she yelled at me and told me she doesn’t want our money 🥴
