Kabo Burger — Restaurant in Kowloon

Kabo is a simple local burger joint with two branches in the city including this place along Prat Ave. in TST. They operate a Shake Shake like setup and are open from 12 to 10pm daily. You order at the counter, take your pager and find a seat and wait for your meal to be ready at the delivery counter or do take-away if preferred.

Menu features an expected range of burgers (beef, chicken, pork, shrimp and lamb), sides, drinks and combo offers. During a recent lunch, I had the B5) Cheeseburger with mushroom, bacon and chipotle ketchup that was pretty good, better than your average burger. Patty was prepared medium to medium well but still had some juice and nature flavour. Toppings, sauce and bun were all just fine. Fries served were of the thick cut wedge variety, fried nicely and served with a bit of tomato sauce.

Great burger of reasonable price. Let’s begin with the spicy mushroom cheese burger I ordered. All the components, including the bacon, the sauce and melted cheese are well balance and seasoned. The bun is soft and tasty. However it was quite disappointed as the burger was pork instead of beef even though the staff had promised there were beef available when I was waiting in the queue. The pork burger they served was way too “minced”. Hardly can you tell the texture of the meat. Another truffle burger ordered was also great, full of flavour. The fries were homemade and crispy while the sweet potato chips were also worth trying. The pear cider they served was fresh and matched with their burger. Grilled Brie Cheese Burger Not so often to have brie in a burger menu. Oozy and gooey melting brie. The beef patty wasn't too firm nor too fluffy with a nice sear. Soft buns.
