The fried eel rice bowl and grilled eel rice bowl are must try. A very high C/P ratio. Better order the large size bowl since it has a double portion of eel. I prefer the grilled eel version since the skin is super crisp and the fried version is more flavorful due to the special sauce. The eel is cooked to perfection without any bones. Side dishes are fine. Services are adequate and there is no service charge. The space is a little bit cramped as expected. I haven't found a Japanese restaurant in HK that can match the quality nor price of the eel dishes.

Nevertheless, there is usually a long line during rush hours. Try to go during non-peak hours. They open until 11pm...last order around ~10pm. BTW, they don't offer a replacement ticket if you miss your turn when your ticket...

I’ve always loved eel and was very curious about this resto that’s a stone’s throw away from our hotel— and just as it’s been said: curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back!

I had the grilled unagi with abalone and left with a satisfied smile (and tummy) after. My daughter had the chicken skewers and some that yummy fruity iced thing— she was also a happy camper after.

Nice interiors will confuse you if you’re in Hong Kong or stepped into a portal to Japan 😅 they don’t speak English here but their digital menu is good enough to let you make an educated decision.

Sorry no photos i was too hungry… great food, great location, great vibe. BEST service! Worried about my car getting a ticket I offered to pay first. Upon finding out my concerns, his most kind hearted waitress instructed me to a parking space outside and even offered to save the spot for my return.

No doubt eel is of good quality and they grill them to perfection (very crispy fish skin). You can tell the quality of the eel biting on the skin that doesn’t just tear apart. Hearty donburi with hot steam rice. Definitely a place to heal your unagi craving if you value a restaurant that does...

Char grilled unagi with good flavor, ordered the salted and marinated version. Personally like the flavor and umami of the marinated version. The salt grilled one comes with a lemon wedge and yuzu sauce, choose that if you prefer a tangy flavor. Set comes with miso soup, starters and some fried fish vertebrae, which were surprisingly crunchy and good. The unagi might be a bit too crispy for some people.
