Yung’s Roast Goose Restaurant delivered an impressive dining experience, particularly with its roast pork, which was exceptionally tender and perfectly seasoned. The crisp exterior and juicy interior made it an outstanding dish that I would gladly return for.
I also purchased roast goose, and as it was my first time trying goose, I had high expectations. Fortunately, the experience did not disappoint. The skin was incredibly crispy and flavourful, while the meat was tender, succulent, and free from any gamey or unpleasant odours. It was an excellent introduction to roast goose and exceeded my expectations.
One aspect of the dining experience that was slightly culture shocking—despite being aware of it beforehand—was the practice of sharing a table with strangers. Initially, it felt a little pressurising, as it was an unfamiliar setting for me. However, as the meal progressed, I found it to be an interesting and enjoyable insight into local dining culture, adding to the authenticity of the experience.
Overall, Yung’s Roast Goose Restaurant is an excellent choice for anyone looking to try authentic roast goose and exceptional roast pork. While the atmosphere may be a bit crowded and the shared seating arrangement may take some getting used to, it ultimately contributes to a unique and immersive Hong Kong dining experience. I would highly recommend it to those seeking an authentic taste of...
Read moreThis review is meainly focusing on commenting to the other tourists' experience in general. This kind of eatery is just like many of the others "cha cheng teng" which basically means fast food - you just eat, pay cash & go. I grew up locally we never expect any services from the wait staff whatsoever which is normal (tippings never expected). When it comes to peak dining time (usually during lunches & dinners), diners are expected to share tables, so as to maximize the turnovers as rents in HK are awefully expensive. I visited on a very late night (about 11pm), just felt a bit hungry and ordered their advertised roasted duck rice. I would say nothing spectacular, the meat was not at its full freshness as it was very late ta night which was understandable. But the male waiter's attitude needed to...

I had goose on rice. Since it's my first visit to Hongkong and my first goose in this style, I do not know how this dish is supposed to taste. But the skin was soggy, the meat was only slightly warm, and one third of the meat pieces shown on my photo mostly consisted of bones. It was simply not good. It's price was 62 HK$.
To make matters worse, one of the male waiters was one of the least motivated waiters I have ever seen. Never smiling, almost throwing my drink and plate on the table and in the hallway at the end of the restaurant, he was throwing things (probably waste) into garbage bins like he was mad and angry. I really felt uncomfortable and together with the bad food, I was finishing dinner as...
