Mr & Mrs Bund is undoubtedly one of the finest restaurants Shanghai has to offer – a place where outstanding cuisine, exceptional service, and a unique atmosphere blend together perfectly.
From the moment you step inside, you feel that you are entering somewhere truly special. The interior design is modern and stylish, yet it carries a timeless charm that transports you back to another era. The combination of historic architecture and contemporary elegance gives the restaurant an impressive presence – it’s not just about the physical size of the space, but about the grandeur it radiates.
Culinarily, Mr & Mrs Bund sets itself apart from traditional French restaurants. Here, French cuisine isn’t simply preserved – it is reimagined with exciting, creative touches. Familiar dishes are combined with fresh, innovative accents without losing their sophistication or craftsmanship. The result is a menu full of dishes that delight, surprise, and invite you to keep discovering more.
The selection is extensive and thoughtfully curated – you can order anything and be assured of an outstanding experience. There isn’t a single dish that disappoints. Particularly noteworthy is the foie gras, which has been exquisite on every visit. Many other dishes also show a boldness in creativity while maintaining deep respect for the culinary traditions they stem from.
Another true highlight is the service: our personal waiter took exceptional care of us each time, offering attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism. You don’t just feel served – you feel truly welcomed and cared for. This human touch, combined with first-class service, made every visit memorable and left us with wonderful memories.
Mr & Mrs Bund succeeds in making haute cuisine accessible, lively, and consistently extraordinary. For anyone looking for a true culinary highlight in Shanghai, this is an absolute must-visit.
Wholeheartedly recommended – and we are already looking forward to...
Read moreWe came to this michelin starred french brasserie on the bund for lunch. Arriving at 11:30 am when it opens we were seated at a premium corner table. The view of the river and oriental pearl was splendid and the service was quick and attentive.
I selected the 2 course meal (entree and dessert) and ordered the australian angus prime rib. It was prepared medium rare with a honey pepper crust and au jus. I cut it with a fork, it was tender and delicious. It was a standard portion size and came with seasoned salt, house made sour cream and mustard on the side. My lunch mates had lamb chops (tender with a nicely complimenting sauce) and sea bass (moist, crispy skin, generous portion). The foie gras was ordered as an appetizer and it had a whipped texture with dried fruit (very nice). I had the cream puff dessert which was good sized, 2 soft cookies separated by a cream center and topped with meringue. It was exquisite and left me quite full. I appreciated the quiet ambience allowing for normal conversation. The prices were in line with what I would expect to pay in the US. Definitely worth a...
Read moreAwesome food with huge pricetag. Food was fabulous though! The bread came warm and toasted served with a side of butter. Foie gras came in a huge slab, served with a side of arugula. The bread combined with foie gras & arugula was perfect! Next we had the truffle bread oooomg this was amazzzzingly yummy. Generous amount of truffle slices so so fragrant. Lobster Bisque topped with fried dough fritters was fabulous. Super rich and flavourful. Fish in broth dish was the only disappointing dish as it was wayyyy too salty. Fresh prawns were huge and delicious, barely needed any of the dipping sauce. The main star was grilled meat omg soooooo juicy and bursting with flavour. The rub on the meat was just perfect. Served with asparagus.
Overall ambience was great. Service was top notch as we came in a large group. The restaurant had 2 outdoor areas looking over the jawdropping view. Will recommend this place for celebrations or...
