by far the most ive ever spent on a meal oops (~400 including service charge), but i would definitely say that it was worth it!
had the night to myself so i wanted to check this place out after hearing quite a lot about it, was immediately seated but had to change seats because of a logistic error midway. it was strange, but didnt affect the whole dining experience at all
staff was rlly sweet and attentive!! quite observant and quick on their feet, rlly loved them. service was also quite smooth, the food lift is adorably loud, ambience was also great, jazz renditions of pop songs being played definitely amped up the vibes
as a solo diner, i got the tomato soup, seafood linguini, and the four seasons mocktail. the soup is a bit overseasoned i would say, its incredibly bright but also quite salty, but still opens up the appetite. the olive oil and the croutons paired so well and helped mellow out the tartness of the tomatoes. definitely not your conventional one, but still tolerable
seafood linguini definitely stole the show for me, hands down one of the best. they do the basics right and seasoned everything quite well so its all a beautiful marriage. pasta was perfectly cooked, seafood seared nicely, did not expect 3 mussels! tomato sauce had a strong garlic undertone which helped round out the dish, quite nice! the mocktail was overly sweet, it's an orange base from what i can tell, but it's something that isn't a must try
tldr, tomato soup and mocktail can be passed, definitely try the linguini if you're looking for a comfort dish!
for its price point, i would say it's a bit on the pricey side (especially the soup and mocktail), but the atmosphere makes up for it
would come again? yes! bring more people...
Read moreWe were seated, but given no food for 25 minutes. We were giving nothing to drink not even water for 35 minutes. We were seated very nicely right next to the toilet, which was quite lively, since it is the only toilet for restaurant three levels. We ordered the tapas sampler which was awful, contained a croquette with seafood (?) fried fish cake, something they described as “samosas” and chorizo all of which were cold and awful. We could view the food coming up by a dumbwaiter which is something you don’t see very often these days. The cod was not Fresh and very tough. The clams were overcooked, and in spite of the description there was no hint of garlic and instead of coriander promised on the menu they used curly parsley. A poor substitute for cilantro. I guess they’re out of it. Everything badly cooked, bad flavors nothing was decent to...
Read moreOur meal started off well with the Garlic prawns which were fresh and cooked well, bacon wrapped dates was ok and grilled squids were cooked perfectly.
Unfortunately it went rapidly downhill from there, the glass of red that was served tasted off, there was a long wait for our beef tenderloin and when it came it was over cooked and tough as boots, French fries were cold and greasy.
The worst thing was the service, or the lack of. Only the manageress knew what’s in the menu, all the other staff had to double consult her when taking the order and none of them had any experience nor any people skills... and then you see the famous Antonio puffing away sitting outside, no doubt contemplating where to go next for holiday...
We have eaten at Mariazinha and Fado the previous nights, this is well below par on...
