Cafe Veng Kei is local eatery at the corner of Rua do Cunha and Ru Correida da Silva in Taipa Village. This is place for Hong Kong/Macau style breakfast and bakery items that won't break your wallet.

There are quite a few places like Cafe Veng Kei but this one is particularly well situated. These days, the building is decorated with painted food items and English signage, making it more approachable for tourists. Staff don't speak English so be ready to order in Cantonese or just point to the pictures or items on the bakery counter that you want.

Here you can order local style breakfast (egg, ham with rice/noodle or as a sandwich). They serve fish balls, chopa bao (pork chop bun) and the likes along with a local style milk tea. A fair take away item from here is a buttered pineapple bun (po lou bao) which you can eat with a cup of tea or just order to go (MOP15) to nibble on while walking the streets of Taipa Village.

In the end, not outstanding food at Cafe Veng Kei but a fair place to try if you want to experience a local Chinese style eatery the way the Macanese do it...

You like over priced mediocre food, awful service and ASMR of tourist chewing right next to your ears? Hey! you found the right place!

Pork chop bun tasted like it was dipped in seawater off the coast of the Greater Bay Area.

The sandwich was so soggy that it feels like I’m holding a wet sponge. Soaked in seawater of course.

Coffee and tea were so mid that I might as well be drinking it from a 7-11 for 1/3 of the price.

Oh and all that took 20mins to arrive because there’s only 1 guy working in the kitchen downstairs.

Which is great! I got to enjoy free ASMR while I wait. Some peole pay good money to hear the sound of tourist eating with their mouth wide open, as if they are in a competition to see who can make the loudest chewing noise.

By the way they send food upstairs in a tiny food elevator that they ALSO USED to transport DIRTY DISHES. Wonderful hygiene.

All in all - 10...

We walked in here with low /no expectations. We were in the area, and we needed a place to sit down and get some food. There was a long queue outside of this place, so we figured we can't go too wrong with this one. Well, let's just first say that the pork chop I had here was possibly the best I've ever had in my life! It was unexpectedly and shockingly good! I was stunned by the taste and the texture of it, which I could never have guessed by just looking at it. Other than that, the beef offal was great (and very expensive for the common dish it is), service is efficient and casual, the milk tea is...

Recommended pork bun location by my family. So we came to get one. It's juicy and hot with a fresh bun holding the pork loin. Very yummie snack, but I still prefer a sirloin steak bun more, lol. As I'm told, many other places pork bun are cold, stiff, dry, etc, so this is quite a great quality bun here compared to others. As said, I'm told of it, so do not take my word for those bad experiences. I can only say I like this place for my good experience
