I recently visited to this local restaurant called Ana restaurant can only be described as a terrible experience that left me utterly disheartened. I had been looking forward to a delightful evening of drinks and dinner, but what unfolded was far from my expectations. The service I encountered was nothing short of awful, and it became apparent that the management was woefully disconnected from the chaos that ensued.

As I stepped into the establishment, the ambiance seemed promising, giving off an air of anticipation for a pleasurable evening. However, that optimism was quickly shattered by the dismal service that followed. The waitstaff appeared disinterested and overwhelmed, leaving tables unattended and customers ignored. It was as if they were going through the motions without any regard for the patrons they were meant to serve.

The lack of attentiveness was only surpassed by the apparent cluelessness of the management. It was baffling to witness their apparent obliviousness to the chaos unfolding under their watch. Empty tables remained uncleared, orders languished, and frustration rippled through the diners. It was evident that the leadership was either absent or ineffectual, resulting in an environment of utter disarray.

My disappointment deepened when I considered the purpose of my visit. The prospect of enjoying a leisurely evening with drinks and a satisfying dinner had drawn me to this establishment. Yet, what transpired was a far cry from the experience I had envisioned. The disjointed service and chaotic atmosphere cast a shadow over what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable time.

The breaking point came when my patience wore thin as I waited for our food order. Minutes stretched into an agonizing wait, and it soon became evident that something was amiss. A sense of disbelief settled in as it became clear that our food order had never been placed at all. The sheer incompetence of the situation was astounding; it was as if the establishment had failed at its most fundamental task – taking and fulfilling orders.

Frustration and disappointment fueled a decision that I had never anticipated making – leaving the restaurant. Walking away from the table, I couldn't help but reflect on the series of missteps that had led to this moment. The evening that had held such promise had been squandered due to the inefficiency and lack of professionalism that permeated every aspect of the experience.

This regrettable encounter served as a stark reminder of the wide array of dining options available. As I left the restaurant, I couldn't help but think about the numerous other eateries in the vicinity. Places where the commitment to delivering a sincere and genuine dining experience is not just a lofty promise, but a lived reality. It underscored the fact that in a competitive culinary landscape, one cannot afford to overlook the importance of attentive service, efficient management, and a genuine desire to create a positive experience for patrons.

In conclusion, my recent visit to this restaurant left me thoroughly disappointed and disheartened. The abysmal service, marked by its lack of attentiveness and disinterest, was only surpassed by the apparent cluelessness of the management. The experience of waiting indefinitely for a food order that was never placed was the final blow that led me to make the unprecedented decision to leave. This unfortunate episode serves as a poignant reminder that there are countless other dining establishments that prioritize delivering a sincere and genuine experience. As a consumer, I am left with a renewed appreciation for the establishments that go above and beyond to make dining not just a meal, but a memorable and...

This is our third time visiting Ana Restaurante. The first two times it was amazing. Food is always great. However, the third time, the experience wasn’t great.

First of all, they recklessly ignited a meat on fire (as some sort of “show”) for someone who ordered a tomahawk steak. I understand that sometimes food brings in a show, I have been to many restaurants in the past where they set the food on fire; However, this experience was scary. The flames went up to great lengths and I was sitting across from the group that ordered the steak. They servers set up the steak station right next to my chair and the flames almost engulfed me. With my long hair down, my hair could’ve easily caught on fire. Not to mention I was completely smoked, when the steak was burning. To make it better, I recommend they set up these stations at a reasonably safe distance from other guests. It was truly scary.

Secondly, service wasn’t great. Our waitress was kind of in a mood. My mom asked her for a way to eat the Roccoco coconut itself and she said “a knife”. When my mom asked for the knife (she wanted to try the coconut), the waitress gave her a weird look. And no, she never brought the knife.

Thirdly, we did the dinner experience. It was okay, but there are definitely other restaurants in Cartagena that also have shows and are 10000% better than this one (and included with the meal: for Ana’s you have to pay an extra 30.000 COP per person for the show). When you book the dinner experience they do tell you about the show fee, which you agree to, however in my opinion there are better shows out there.

Not sure if I would be coming back. Like I said, food is amazing (small servings though), but the three things above definitely ruined...

Disappointing New Year’s Experience 😔😔😔We had high hopes for our New Year’s dinner at Ana Restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. We paid $35 for a reservation, only to find it offered no real benefit. People without reservations were coming and going freely, which made us question why we had to pay extra at all.

Upon arrival, there was no effort to create a festive atmosphere—it felt like an ordinary evening at the restaurant. The food, while presented well, was overpriced and served in very small portions. The idea that we were supposed to “ask for multiple dishes” felt more like an excuse to push us into ordering more and spending beyond our budget. Starters weren’t offered, and the lack of music until 11:30 PM left the ambiance feeling dull and uninspired for most of the evening.

In summary, this experience was nowhere near worth the price. The reservation locked us into an underwhelming New Year’s celebration that lacked 90% of the elements one would expect on such a night. We left disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this event to anyone looking for a memorable holiday...

Ana in Cartagena's Old Walled City is an absolute gem! The decor is stunning, transporting you back to the opulence of pre-revolutionary Cuba. The service is super friendly and impeccable, making you feel right at home. The mixed drinks are incredible – you won't be able to stop sipping them. The appetizers, especially the salmon croquettes, are to die for. The main dishes are super tasty, with the black ink calamari rice being a standout. And the salmon with avocado risotto... holy cow! It is out of this world. I have been to Italy many times and have never experienced such a tasty and memorable risotto with avocado (never heard of it) like at Ana Restaurant. Desserts are also a delight. The best part? The live Latin music band at 8 pm elevates the atmosphere to a whole new level. As someone who is quite picky and hard to impress, I only write reviews for places I truly enjoy. I highly recommend Ana for anyone looking for a fancy Latin dining experience. I’m definitely coming back here every time I visit Cartagena. Overall, what a gem of a restaurant! PS: I wish I could have a restaurant like this back in New York City!

A Must-Visit in Cartagena – Amazing Food, Vibes, and Music! Ana Restaurant absolutely blew us away! We loved it so much, we went twice during our stay in Cartagena—and both visits were incredible. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, with the perfect mix of elegance and fun. The live music set the tone both nights and added such a magical touch to the experience—it was the kind of vibe that makes you want to stay all night! The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, flavorful, and fresh. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and the cocktails were just as impressive. You can tell they put real thought and passion into their menu. The service was warm and attentive without ever being overbearing. From start to finish, we felt well taken care of, and the staff genuinely made us feel at home. Ana is definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening, a fun night out with friends, or just great food in a lively setting—this place is a gem. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Cartagena!
