Went on a Thursday night after it had just stopped raining so it really wasn't busy. We went to check it out to see if it would be a good place to have welcome drinks/rehearsal dinner for our upcoming wedding in March based on the other positive reviews. The attendants at the door were friendly but the staff on the rooftop were not.
The presentation of the drinks were very nice but obviously watered down. The food though was a huge miss, especially for the price. We ordered baos de tocino which were good but insanely expensive. Nearly 40,000 COP for 2 baos! You can have it cheaper and better in the US. The carpaccio de pera & burrata was honestly insulting. The pears were not caramelized and tasted bland. Nothing in that dish was actually cooked. 44,500 COP for a completely raw dish and 3 small pieces of bread (not even sure if it was sourdough because it sure didn't taste like it).
We spent a total of $90 USD, including tip, for 2 watered down drinks, unfriendly service, and 2 overpriced food items with one being a completely raw dish. I would not recommend this...
Read moreThe food was fine, location was great but the staff was rude. We ordered some entrees that took a long time, and before we could finish those, our main dish was served. When some of us were ready, they immediately took our plates. The steak one of us ordered was supposed to be rare/medium rare, it came well done. It took a while before they gave all of us a glass for water (they kept bringing them 2 by 2?) and at 8 pm (3hrs after opening, it wasnt busy) there were no more desserts? When we came in, we asked for separate checks, the waiter we had then said she would do it. Apparently her shift ended and she didnt do it. The waiter who helped us then made a big fuss of it. Very unfortunate because the food was alright but the staff made it...
Read morePura rooftop is one of our favorite spots in the old city of Cartagena. We always try to see at least one sunset from this lovely rooftop bar. The food is generally very good, the service is attentive and the prices are quite reasonable. The music can be loud sometimes although the DJ is usually excellent. The view is spectacular and the main reason to go. Our only gripe is the BAÑOS. The lady’s room is fully equipped but the men’s room has only a single urinal. Apparently men are only allowed to do one kind of business while visiting the bathroom. We ask every time why they have not fixed the situation and every time we are told that is what the architect wanted. You should definitely catch a sunset at Pura but plan your biological needs...
