Excellent sushi option here in Cartagena.
Initially, my Boyfriend and I were skeptical about going for sushi here, after our not-so-great sushi experiences during our seven-months travel throughout South America (of course not counting Peru and their Nikkei restaurants). It was usually the case of too much rice in proportion to the ingredients; too much cream cheese; not the proper sushi rice etc.
However, this was definitely not the case at Tabetai. The proportion of rice to ingredients was just right; maki rolls were tightly packed and rolled and didn’t fall apart when you pick it up; ingredients were fresh and tasty. We had a plate of mixed sashimi Lujo (15pieces) and an Ichiban sushi plate (9 pieces), both were delicious (freshly prepared on site and in full view) and good value. Two plates was plenty for two to share. Made a really nice change from all the fried food offered...
