Read moreWhen I looked across the street at the sign of the restaurant it said “D’Andre” and there were two tables of black American tourists eating there, so in my mind I envisioned the owner and chef being an American black dude cooking some yummy American soul food.
I was wrong, the owner is a Colombian named Andres and the food is more lunch and breakfast oriented. But the food and service are very good and prices are reasonable for a Colombian standard.
I sat on the terrace which was shaded but had a nice breeze on a relatively hot December summer day.
They have Pepsi and not Coke which is a little annoying but the variety of breakfast fare including bagels and cream cheese as well as eggs is really nice. Also, for lunch they’ve got a special menu that includes a soup (vegetable soup) a salad (quinoa, tomato, avocado and mango) and a main dish. I went for the osso Bacco which was enormous quantity of meat. It could have been a tad softer but it obviously sat in the pot for hours and was very flavorful. The lunch also includes a juice and i went for the pineapple.
The main dish was accompanied by vegetables which was great but after the salad and the veggie soup I would have been Ok with just some rice.
Highly recommend this spot for lunch or breakfast or brunch or just to hang out for a few hours and enjoy their good WiFi. Also, they’ve got a tv so you can watch some soccer...
Read more3 stars for the food only - great breakfast options. Minus 2 stars for a terrible service experience. I used to come here for breakfast and work all the time, and had the same nice waitress. One day I came in and had a different waitress, who was just generally miserable. At one point, while I went to the bathroom for 2 minutes, she came and threw away my coffee. There was about a quarter left in the cup, which maybe wasn’t a lot, but they still should not assume you’re done without asking. When I told her I was still drinking the coffee, she proceeded to argue with me that it was almost empty with the rudest attitude ever. No offer to bring even a small refill. It was so awkward and ridiculous that I asked her to just bring me another new cup of coffee, which I would pay for, to be done with her trying to argue about the one she threw away.
Instead of bringing the new cup as I asked, she proceeded to stand behind the counter giving me nasty looks and whispering to her coworker for the next 10 minutes. I didn’t even bother asking her again, just paid and left. I used to come multiple times a week, but since that incident, I...
