Madurando is one of the very few places in Medellin where they have aged meat. Madurando is also one of the very few places where they have bone marrow which is called Caracu on their menu. And into the bargain they have very reasonable prices for the quality they offer. All in all this is Medellin’s best meat place in my opinion. Best bang for your buck hands down! Aged meat is king after all!
Their aged rib eye is their best cut. You can also buy their aged raw meat in kilograms to take home and prepare at your own place. A very good option that I have opted for myself many times.
The pictures posted here are from several of my many visits to this restaurant. Also I posted pictures of how they sell their meat for taking home. They vacuum seal their meat that they sell. As I mentioned: This is Medellin’s best meat restaurant with reasonable prices even. Any meat lover that finds this gem tends to come back.
If you love Chinchulines though check out La Pampa, that’s Medellin’s best place for Chinchulines. The Chinchulines at Madurando are too dry for my taste. Other than that Marurando is where it’s...
Read moreWe picked this place because we wanted to try a Steakhouse in Medellin and this looked the best (many reviews look fake in this city). The restaurant is a in a shopping mall on the top of a hill maybe 5 minutes from the lively restaurants in Poblado. We went Saturday at 8 p.m expecting it to be full and the place was half empty. Maybe 5 tables. It didn’t get much busier. The decor is very average, especially considering the price, mostly In wood. The waiters don’t really speak English and don’t make much of an effort. The menu is via their website only, in Spanish only with pics. The appetizer (Chorizo I believe) was great. The steaks we took (Tomahawk and Rib Eye) looked great but both came very overcooked. When we pointed it to the waiter, he said that it look that way because it is dark and the light is limited, lol. We gave up! Wine list is way too expensive. Only time waiter became friendly was to explain that a a tip of 10% was included...
Read moreWent for lunch one day and it was really good, steak carpaccio was on point, kinda. Bread was stale.. so dinner. Maryln was very nice, the old waiter was kinda rude and clueless, the steak is a really good piece of meat, but they souvie it. Which ruins it. Inexperienced cook. It's edible(kinda) but not cooked well at all. Fat is inedible. Medium around the edges but raw towards the bone. I also told this to the chef, hopefully he listens. The ribs weren't good either, no flavor. The drinks were good, haven't had a drink with crushed ice in it since I was 12. Going to buy a steak one night and cook it myself. The potential is there but kitchen isn't delivering. Hopefully gets better. Place isn't busy...
