We’ve eaten here every morning of our 4-day stay. It’s owned and run by two families (2 brothers, their spouses and children) and only opened up in December 2022, so it’s still uncrowded. The people are very friendly and the food is both reasonably priced and very good. I particularly liked the huevos rancheros, but the French toast and mint lemonade were also great (two separate meals; I’m not crazy to mix them). My family loved the burrito, the Gallo Pinto, and the coffee. I want to give particular mention of Sonia, who was extremely friendly and helpful. She speaks excellent English and gave us pointers to things to see and do. She also offered to arrange for a guide to the Monteverde Biological Preserve. We accepted her offer, and she connected us with an excellent guide (Jairo Rodriguez) who was both reasonably priced but also friendly and very...
Read moreEDIT: wow, not the response I expected from us not liking the food. My profile is not fake, I’ve reviewed plenty of other places, and no, we got food this morning around 10 with my brother and our partners. We sat upstairs at the 4 person table on the right side, where we saw the view of the gulf. We ordered two huevos rancheros, a French toast, a gallo pinto burrito, two chai lattes, and two coffees. We played cards as we waited for food. There were three people working. The coffees were watery milk, and the huevos rancheros were really bad. The rest of the food was okay and the chais were okay. But no way does this place deserve 5 stars, and this response to our criticism definitely tipped my 2 stars to a 1 star.
Original review: Pretty terrible food - and that’s a bit surprising given the other reviews. Definitely don’t recommend it but good...
Read morePLEASE READ THIS REVIEW. This dinner was my favorite moment of our entire trip. We initially came here just for the sunset view but then met the owner (who is so lovely and kind!!!) and tried the empanada and it was sooo delicious! I had the ice chocolate and my boyfriend had a piña colada (both amazing) and we played cards for a couple of hours and had the nachos, a quesadilla, and a burger. The ingredients were so fresh and the price was 1/3 of what we paid in more popular locations. It was incredibly special and romantic - we had the place to ourselves. It is a new place so doesn’t have as much relevance as more reputable places, but trust me - you need to come here for dinner and the sunset view!!! This may have been such an awesome experience because it was so unexpected, but you will have a delicious, private meal with a gorgeous...
