This is a very small Italian restaurant that I believe is run by the owner and his son. We were looking for Italian our first night in Quepos and this place popped up. It was an easy drive with easy street parking. It wasn’t a bad experience by any means, but both the food and service were just ok at best. It was for of us and we sat down and were promptly greeted and were given menus. He later took our drink order and food order, which we accurately received later. Because it’s two of them, and there were other guests, it took a bit longer than we might have hoped. But we simply talked to the table next to us to pass the time. The food arrived and was just ok. The garlic bread was cold as it was likely made before the pastas and sat there. The caprese salad was fine, but nothing special. I had the namesake pasta and it was pretty bland without a lot of flavor. The fettuccine noodles themselves were actually pretty good. My kids both got the Alfredo, which was pretty odd. On the ingredients it listed cooked ham, but I would have assumed it was something like a pancetta, or guanciale, but it was more like a chef salad kind of ham (see photo). I’ve just never had ham like that in a pasta. Lastly, know that the atmosphere is super casual and bland. This is perfectly fine if you are aware, but keep that in mind if you are in town for a limited time and can only pick a couple places for dinner. For us, it just fell short given the other great restaurants we experienced while in Costa Rica.

Luigi is doing real work in Quepos, Costa Rica. He’s the chef, server and wine pourer. We recently went to Italy for a couple weeks…Luigi has somehow transported classic Italian cuisine to Costa Rica. DO NOT PASS ON THIS PLACE. The bruschetta pomodora and bruschetta mozzarella y prosciutto was insane good. I had the carbonara and it was like I was eating it sitting next to the colosseum at Historia La Gladiaria. We had the brownie and gelato 🥹 enough said. We ended the meal with a digestivo. Luigi had two with us. He is a one man show so know that it takes a little longer BUT totally worth it.

My wife and I visited for lunch. The restaurant was not too busy, so everything was great. After reading the other reviews, we had some reservations about our visit. We can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed everything! This was some of the BEST pasta dishes we've ever tasted 😋! Yes, the owner didn't appear to be overly friendly, but he wasn't unfriendly either. And once we told him how much we enjoyed our meals, we could tell this meant a lot to him... and we got him to smile! If you find yourself in Quepos, in my opinion, it's worth the visit.

I love with this place, the pasta was great and taste got better with the olive oil with chile that the owner prepares. The vibe is very casual and unique, but you may not understand it if you are the type of person that just pays and expect a service and do not connect with people as humans.

We came here for the burgers, but came too early in the day. (They serve them after 2pm). So we "settled" for Caribbean chicken and coconut mahi mahi lunches respectively, and they were the best meals we've each ever had. The chicken my partner had was perfectly spiced and fell off the bone. And as a seafood lover, I've had fish all over the Caribbean, and I've never had better.

The service as well was wonderful, and the staff put up with my halting Spanish with grace and a genuine warmth.

This gem of a restaurant is a MUST visit if you are in Quepos looking for a lunch or dinner spot.

I...
