When me and my friends decided for a last night in La Fortuna to go to Restaurant in the second row, we did not expect to encounter this place. The owner was an incredible host (well-spoken in English, very patient with our questions and order) and the place itself was charmingly decorated. And at last, but not least, the food must be mentioned. I've loved birria tacos from the day I encountered them the first time in my hometown. Unfortunately, they're a rarity over there. Here, they had them on the menu, so I didn't hesitate with my order. Everything was on point, the meat, the tortilla (selfmade with flour especially ordered from Mexico), the consomme... unforgettable. The owner revealed that his wife is actually doing the cooking and it shows that this is proper home cooking, hard to encounter in a city that is as mainstream as La Fortuna. This place offers authentic Mexican cuisine just a couple steps away from the city center with a very nice price. I wish I could come here again!
Cristian, thank you for everything! We had a great night and left the place...

We grabbed some food to go from this hidden gem, and I honestly wasn’t expecting anything since I tried other “Mexican” restaurants in La Fortuna and none of them met my expectations, but WOW!, I was blown away. The birria was absolutely incredible, rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also tried the flautas, sopes, and tacos, and everything was seriously delicious.
It’s rare for takeout to leave such a strong impression, but the quality and flavor really stood out. This place has quickly become my go-to Mexican restaurant in La Fortuna. You can tell they put heart into every dish. If you’re in town and craving authentic Mexican food, don’t miss this spot. Highly...

We got guacamole and chips to start, which was good. Excited for birria tacos because we had them a lot in California and New York, and the reviews were good.
Honestly was disappointed in the birria, the meat tasted like it was close to spoiling, so I just didn’t eat the meat, everything else in the taco was okay.
Our server was very nice and treated us well, just wasn’t a fan of the birria as it tasted odd, but maybe it was a one time thing. Guac was good too! And it has a...
