Usually I have reservations about Friday night restaurant availabilities without reservations (pun intended). I ended up in Dubrovnik Old Town on a Friday night without pre-booking a table in advance. I know, a mistake.
I was pleasantly surprised to find availability at Konoba Nava off the main street in Dubrovnik Old Town. Situated in a tiny street (all streets in Dubrovnik Old Town are tiny) the restaurant had small tables very close to each other so dining in privacy was beyond possible.
Greek salad was good but not mind blowing, fried calamari with chips was also decent, the fresh grilled dorada (sea brim) was very good. Portions were on the smaller side but I wouldn't say they were not enough. Water served in plastic bottles ( a big no, no for self-respecting restaurants) but in my opinion Konoba Nava is not that sophisticated a restaurant, compared to other establishments in Dubrovnik Old Town so it's not a bad thing at all, especially when the top ranked restaurants are fully booked and one is hungry.
My experience at the restaurant was a positive one, paid a reasonable bill, had a good evening overall. Would I come eat here again? Yes, if all the top ranked restaurants in the Old Town are fully...

Mate a local tour guide said he went here cause he liked the ladies who ran this place and that their food was his favourite despite working across a nice restaurant
Antea was my waitress and she was a smiley and delightful young lady who spoke good English and was lovely. I got the grilled mixed seafood and couldnāt have been happier. The portion size was perfect and I got an extra portion of fresh seasonal salad with 2 glasses of their house wine which was divine.
I spent nearly a couple of hours here and loved people walking past but because this was on an alley, the atmosphere wasnāt noisy or crowded and it was cool, considering it was scorching hot everywhere else
Nice cute little restaurant with great ambiance and energy and I loved the old ladies who owned and ran...

I was pleasantly surprised to meet the same waiter (older gentleman) that speaks multiple languages and is an absolute wizard of filleting the fish directly on your plate. He shared the story that he's working in industry for 50 years. Bravo! Food- DELICIOUS!!! Gorgeous amount of butter and garlic, everything soft, tasty, fresh, biiiiggg portions. Totally recommend fish mix. Seats comfy, shade provided, what else you need?! P.S. those wet wipes provided are nice touch. Didn't make the photo because I was too hipnotized with the waiter doing his magic with my fish and right after I jumped to...
