MARIGO Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Grad Hvar

DONT COME HERE RUDE WAITER The food was incredible, however the waiter that took our order was acting very strange, telling and gesturing for us to hurry up (who does that) and being very rude in general, which left us somewhat shocked and confused. Soon after, me and my partner played a card game which, halfway through, the same waiter came and instead of politely telling us that we were not allowed to play, just came and stood next to our table and shook his head rudely and did not elaborate. Then multiple times throughout the meal, when he was asking other customers how their meal was, he stood by our table hesitantly, and did not ask how our meal was. This happened twice (he asked the table directly next to us, then the table directly the other side). This and the cards made us think he had some kind of personal grudge against us? When he cleared my plate he did ask ‘all good?’ in fairness. I will mention that my partner and I are a young couple, so perhaps held a grudge against us for that reason? Really expensive for really below average food. I got the eggs benedict and it was the tiniest portion I’ve ever had. Two skimpy pieces of bacon on very thin slices of bread and poached eggs that weren’t cooked properly (the egg whites were translucent). They didn’t even bother to give any kind of greens with the benedict and if they were trying to make up for it with the salad, it was a HALF cherry tomato with 3 green leaves. So disappointing.

My friend ordered the florentine which the menu said came with “baby spinach” and she had ONE baby spinach leaf on each egg lol.

All the tables around us left food on their tables which is a sign of bad food too. Who leaves food when the portions are small? That’s a telltale sign...

We really enjoyed our meal at this place. We were a group of four people, and we just happened to come upon this place while walking through Hvar. The waiter was extremely kind and helpful to get us a seat quickly, and spoke perfect English which was really helpful for us as tourists! We ordered crispy shrimps and Gorgonzola beef pasta. Both were delicious, and we finished every bite!! We also got fries which were fluffy with a little crisp on the outside. They could be a bit crispier to be perfect. We also ordered 2 cocktails, which we didn’t think were the best, but not bad. The prices for cocktails seemed a little bit high, but we were pleased with the prices for food here.
