As a solo traveler spending four nights at this hotel, I can honestly say that words cannot do justice to my experience. Everything about my stay was absolutely fantastic — from the unique setting to the exceptional staff. The location is unbeatable: right in the heart of Split, within the historic walls of the old castle. This makes the hotel not only convenient for exploring the city but also truly special and atmospheric. What stood out even more than the location, however, was the staff. From the manager to the restaurant servers and cleaning team, every single person I encountered was kind, professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. They ensured that every part of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. A very special mention must go to Vladimir, the hotel manager. He is truly one of the kindest and most genuine individuals I have met in my travels. Calm, gracious, and incredibly thoughtful, he went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Anything I asked for was arranged within hours — including laundry and other requests. Each morning and evening, Vladimir personally checked in to ensure I was comfortable. Because I often left early for excursions, he thoughtfully prepared a bag with sandwiches, fruit, and snacks to take with me — a small but incredibly meaningful gesture that showed how much he cares about guests. This level of care and attention made me feel not just like a hotel guest, but truly welcomed and looked after. It is rare to encounter such professionalism combined with genuine kindness. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Split. The location, the historic charm, and above all, the people — especially Vladimir — made this one of the best hotel experiences of my life. I will always be grateful for the hospitality and warmth I received here.

We enjoyed our first night stay at Hotel Peristil so much, that we booked our final night in Croatia in the same room to complete our trip. The hotel is in a perfect location within the palace walls, and hopefully you get this room with a view onto the liveliness down below (note: it can get a little noisy on weekend nights). The hotel exudes a relaxed and home-like atmosphere, with a staff that is personable and attentive. We were fortunate to meet the lively and laid-back owner, making it easy to see how this hotel embodies the same vibe. Breakfast is good and filling, and they even made us a to-go bag with sandwiches, fruit & juice for our early flight out. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic location! So easy to go out, walk around or shop, bring things back, rest, and do it all again. Mile and his staff, including Ivan, are so helpful and kind. If you have the chance, sit at the restaurant for a deliciously foamy cappuccino made by Ivan and listen to some stories, get to know them and their culture.

The Hotel Peristil is a small, quiet, old-fashioned hotel. Sort of a throwback vibe - decor is from an earlier era. The rooms are comfortable if small, fine for what we needed.  There's not a lobby but the courtyard outside was nice for breakfast and to hang out in.  The only disadvantage for us was the lack of an elevator as we had some heavy luggage (we didn't ask for help but probably could have gotten some).  ||The hotel appears to be family run. The staff is small but was responsive, such as providing us with a breakfast box since we had to leave very early. Small size has some limitations -- the night we were the restaurant was closed because the chef was out sick (they made a recommendation on a good restaurant nearby).||As others have said, the location is great. It's actually within the palace. It's also close to the waterfront and was a ten minute walk with luggage to the bus station there. It's not easy to find because it's tucked away - be prepared to hunt for it after going into the palace from the east side. Some comments say that location is all it has, but that depends on your style. It's just not a high-end, high energy  place and that was...
