Terrible place, terrible service. We went there for a quick lunch after visiting the castle, already aware that it was just a bistro and not a restaurant but we were still handed a paper menu so we expected those few dishes that they sell to be homemade or at least decent. They were neither. The chicken wraps were still wrapped in plastic and they were the kind you can find at any supermarket, those they sell at 3/4 euros here are sold for 8 euros (190 Kč). The service was also horrible to say the least, we were left to wait for 20 minutes after asking the waitress to come back in a couple minutes to order the drinks to accompany our food order. She never came back. We then solicited our food and those heinous wraps arrived together with a ceasar salad, also packaged in a paper and plastic bowl, clearly bought pre-made at a supermarket. We went to pay knowing we had a check of 900 Kč but then we were handed a 930 Kč bill, we still don't know what those 30 Kč were for, as on the menu there wasn't indicated any cover charge. We gave the waiter 1000 Kč and he almost didn't give us the change, we had to ask another waiter to give us the 70 Kč we were entitled to and then he "kindly" gave us 80 Kč for the inconvenience, still, we paid 20 Kč too many Kč. Overall the only good thing is the position as it is inside the...
Read moreDuring our whirlwind tour of Prague, we stumbled upon Bistro U Kanovníků and it was a truly delightful discovery. We weren't looking for a full meal, but rather a sweet treat and a good cup of coffee – and this place exceeded our expectations on both fronts!
The pastries were simply divine. Each bite was a perfectly balanced blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the artistry of the bakers. Paired with their creative and delicious coffee-inspired drinks (I highly recommend whatever special they're featuring!), it was the perfect afternoon indulgence. The ambiance was cozy and charming, a welcome respite from the bustling streets.
But what truly elevated our experience was the outstanding service from Juroslav. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. His warmth and genuine hospitality made us feel instantly welcome and added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit.
If you're looking for a delicious dessert and coffee break in Prague, don't hesitate to visit Bistro U Kanovníků. And if you see Juroslav, be sure to say hello! You won't be disappointed. Highly...
Read moreAbsolutely brilliant cafe - so good we went twice! Stopped in at first for a hot drink and the hot chocolate was the best I've had in Prague! As we were leaving my mum spotted the food and wouldn't stop talking about it so we had to head back for lunch too! The food was incredible - we both had the sausage in baguette and were so impressed. It was tasty and filling and the staff there were all excellent both times. We had Natalia on both visits and she was so lovely, friendly and attentive and put up with us and our lack of Czech! Would highly recommend if you're in Prague and definitely if you're...
