Siutuated few meteres from the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral, Vikárka Restaurant proves to be a culinary gem that complements the grandeur of its iconic neighbor. My recent dining experience at Vikárka left me thoroughly impressed with its delightful ambiance, attentive service, and an exquisite array of offerings. The restaurant's strategic location, mere meters from the awe-inspiring St. Vitus Cathedral, lends an air of historical romance to the dining experience. The staff exudes warmth and professionalism, ensuring that every guest feels well taken care of. From providing insightful recommendations to accommodating special requests, the team's dedication to guest satisfaction is evident in every interaction. The standout feature, undoubtedly, is the renowned Pilsner beer. At a reasonable price of 65 Czech koruna, patrons can savor the rich taste of a perfectly poured Pilsner Urquell. The commitment to serving exceptional beer is evident in every sip, making it a must-try for enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. Vikárka Restaurant stands as a testament to the art of fine dining, complemented by its proximity to the stunning St. Vitus Cathedral. The impeccable service, exquisite Pilsner beer, and diverse menu choices make it a delightful culinary destination in the heart of Prague. For anyone seeking an authentic taste of Czech hospitality and cuisine, Vikárka should undoubtedly be on the top...

Vikárka Restaurant was the perfect place to grab an authentic Czech meal while exploring Prague Castle. This wasn’t some touristy spot—this is where the people who work at the castle actually eat, and that’s exactly the kind of place I love finding.

The food was traditional and delicious. I went with the beef sirloin with bread dumplings, and it was exactly what I wanted—rich, flavorful, and filling. Everything on the menu looked great, and it really felt like a home-cooked Czech meal rather than something made for tourists.

The staff didn’t speak much English, but honestly, that didn’t matter. They were friendly and helpful, and I managed just fine with pointing at the menu and a few basic Czech words. They preferred cash but did accept a card, which was good to know ahead of time.

The atmosphere was simple but authentic, and I really liked that it was tucked away in the castle complex. It felt like a hidden gem where locals actually eat rather than just another overpriced tourist restaurant.

Overall, Vikárka Restaurant is a must-visit if you want real Czech food in a historic setting. It’s affordable, authentic, and a great place to relax while exploring the castle. If I ever come back, this is where I’m...

The worst ever experience we had in this city. Terrible foods and very bad attitude. I don’t understand why this place can be rated 4.2 on Google. I don’t usually write negative review, but this place just ruin our moods and I hope my review can help others avoid this trap.

Here were our experience in detail: Only 3 courses were available when we ordered. We ordered all three and they were all terrible, no exceptions. The foods are cold and no tastes at all.

The waitresses: the one offering the foods and the one at cash counter, they were both very rude. If they are not happy about their work, they shouldn’t be there.

The waitress at the counter asked us to pay cash without any explanation when she had a card machine beside her. When we said we don’t have CZ kron but only euro, she calculated the amount to euro in a very bad exchange rate and ask us to pay in a very rude way. She didn’t give us receipt, which made me wondering either if the restaurant wants to avoid paying tax or someone earns pocket money.

The vending machine was...

It was way past noon when we finished touring St. Vitus Cathedral and our group was really hungry and thirsty. Lo, there was an inviting eatery not far after we exited the cathedral. I ordered white cheese based pasta while my wife ordered curry chicken with rice and the rest of the group ordered different kinds of wraps and sandwiches. Glasses of sodas went with the mains. My pasta tasted pretty decent; I expected subtle regional cheese distinct flavors but I must admit I strained to distinguish anything else beyond the genre of salt and hint of dairy. My wife said she liked her chicken dish but my sampling of her food did not overwhelm. The restaurant is situated in one of cathedral complex's old buildings thus that's was how the ambience was.
