WARNING) STRONGLY UNRECOMMENDED! I DO NOT KNOW WHY THIS RESTAURANT was introduced in Michiline guide. Here is the story I ordered an 2 appetizer and one main dish. Scottish salmon Gravlax and Duck liver Foie gras terrine for appetizer. Basically most of the food was TOO MUCH SALTY... And it kills the all the taste of fruits or duck liver. The main dish I ordered royal steak and it was not bad but I am not sure it worths for trying with this price. I ordered Czech morabian wine Zweigltrebe, which name stands for its grape type. It felt like too young and become too much sour for me after few minutes even if its vintage was 2008 Problem is if I am asked to recommend or visit again this resturant, I DEFINITELY SAY "NO". Firstly, we ordered 1 main dish because I was already a bit full. But waiter who got my order asked us why you only order 1 main dish. I saw him scoffed at us with snoring like we are doing the wrong thing (Idk What he was thinking). Secondly, I dropped my knives and folks. Even if the waiter saw me(he was straing at us), he did not ask me or move (he was just near me 3-4m). when I asked him to change the knives, He did not replied for a while and take me after few minutes(How could I eat without knives?). Thirdly, I asked them to recommend Czech wine because I do not know Czech wine. He only asked "strong or weak?".(is there wine which is strong or weak for you?). He just recommended 1 wine an And When I asked him about the taste. He seemed not sure about what it taste like... I asked him is it a bit sour? But he said no. But it was definitely a sour type of one.😂 (Have you guys ever tried wines before?) It was totally different from other country wine. They did not explained anything...where or what type of grapes or distinctiveness...( I asked every details by myself). The most of worst, they constantly asked me 3 times did i finish my dished even 1/3 of the beef was left....(we were talking about serious things..they interrupted times). If you ask me Do I recommend here? Hell NO.. Try other one.. it only have good view that is all. I AM NOT SURE WHY THIS RESTAURANT GOT GOOD RATE FROM...

2nd Christmas day was completely ruined by the inadequacy of the restaurant staff. They failed to notify us about a change in restaurant opening times due to Covid until i found out a mere week or two beforehand. Rebooking was possible but not without a hitch and i regret going to this dump ever since.
Arriving at the restaurant we had no clue where to go and the scavenger hunt began with finding an elevator going up. There was no professional welcoming and the language barrier made us feel very unwelcome. Also there was no Covid certificate check, even McDonalds in downtown Prague does this to keep their guests safe. At 7:30PM the restaurant was quite empty but we werent situated near the window for "the view".
Waiters had more eye and attention for the Czech guest as their small talk was hear throughout the restaurant. The food was OK, the foie gras was disgusting and had zero flavor. The knife through fork crossed cutlery sign wasn't noticed. Seats are terrible and offer no support in this hellhole.
Such a pretentious restaurant and staff, must be faded glory.
There was barely any compensation for the multiple inconveniences on their end. A less than €20 discount. We paid and ran for the exit what a gastronomic nightmare. They really F'd up big time to not get a tip on 2nd Christmas day, there was no merry Christmas on entry and we got the silent treatment on the way out.
TLDR: AVOID THIS TOURIST TRAP AT ALL COSTS Pro's: the view
Con's: staff and according manners service or the lack of it actually management value for money food isn't special in any way
The staff and especially Lukasz...
Read moreMy third time in Prague, first trip for my mom. Brought her to Prague as a birthday present. First time at the Golden Well. TL;DR: View and food were exquisite. Service, not so much. Would recommend to others with some hesitation. Will likely give it another shot the next time I visit to see if the service was better the second time around.
The good: The view - undoubtedly one of the best in the city. We sat as the sun was going down and it was very romantic. The food - exceptional flavors, textures, creativity and it was beautifully plated. Highly recommend.
The not so good: The first impression - When we walked in to the restaurant we were barked at on three different occasions about having a reservation. (We did.) Very rude and our immediate impressions was that staff were trying to imply that somehow we didn’t belong there. Have a concierge or host at the bottom who inquires about reservations and then guides guests to the elevator accordingly. When we finally arrived at the terrace, we walked in there to find six empty tables at the railing. We asked to be seated at one to take advantage of the beautiful view. They refused, instead seating is at the back of the restaurant. There were still two empty, untouched tables available at the rail when we left two hours later. Use reserved signs and have a better mechanism for requesting the view side. We felt rather cheated out of the best possible experience and, again, as if there was some implicit suggestion that we didn’t belong there. The service - well-timed, but rigid and mechanical, without much warmth. And we spent quite a while trying to flag someone down to...
