Lobkowicz Palace Restaurant & Café — Restaurant in Prague

I visited the cafe this past weekend whilst visiting Prague castle. The cafe itself is beautiful with amazing views of the city. However the service was terrible. We ordered two drinks and some lunch, which the waiter failed to make note of. Our drinks arrived, but after 40 minutes there was no sign of our food. When we questioned this, we were told the food was not ordered and that we could either wait another 15 mins or cancel the order. Because we were so hungry we decided to wait. The waiter apologised, but there was no effort made to compensate for the time we had sat there waiting, with no staff member checking on us for 40 minutes. When asked for the bill, our waiter had a different man take payment from us. We told him we didn’t want to pay the 10-15% service charge as a result of the bad service - his face turned sour, he threw the receipt at us and walked away. My family and I were wrapping up our Prague trip with a tour of the Castle and decided to have late lunch at the Cafe. Upon entry we were told to take any empty table and we did. We were enjoying the incredible view while the waitress brought us our menus. While we were deciding what to order we heard a waiter and our waitress arguing, referring to us on a very derogatory way in Russian (which we speak fluently) claiming that we took a table that they wanted to give to another larger party. After this the waiter came over to us, told us that our table was actually part of another party’s reservation (the Cafe’s website states No Reservations) and told us to move to another table, in a corner of a smoking section, where the smell was quite awful from the cigarets. We promptly left the Cafe and this experience really put a damper on our wrap up of an otherwise wonderful trip. I urge the management of the restaurant to review their staff and take...

After the hour long concert 🎶 upstairs, we come down to have drinks only because we’ve dinner reservation at Maria - on a boat by the concert hall Rudolfinum tonight.

This place is probably nothing without the view. And the view is dying for. (In all fairness, the interior is very nice … and foods look delicious.)

The balcony looks out to Prague - the only draw back is onlookers would come out to the balcony and start taking pictures. I love taking pix but I won’t go to a private place, such as a restaurant, squeeze between tables to take a pic - it’s just rude, but plenty people just do it. Some takes a pic and leave, while a few would linger a little longer… People: pls have some manners and behave. This is NOT a public place. Either wait for a table or go to the garden which is public, to...
