As a Peruvian visiting Prague, I have to say Maču Pikču really delivers the true taste of home. I had the lomo saltado (a classic Peruvian dish with beef, onions, tomatoes, fries, and rice), and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, the flavors were spot on, and it really brought me back to Peru.
The service is also worth mentioning. I was greeted warmly by Carlos, the owner and cook, and his son Alois. Both are Peruvian and incredibly friendly. Even the waiter, also Peruvian, made me feel welcome right away. It's clear that this place is a family-run effort and full of heart.
The restaurant itself is spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything inside has been hand-painted or crafted to reflect different parts of Peru, and it creates a really cozy and authentic atmosphere. It’s more than just a place to eat, it feels like a little slice of Peru in the middle of Prague.
Prices are reasonable for the area, and the location is great, just a short walk from the National Museum. If you're looking for real Peruvian food and warm hospitality, this is the place. Definitely...
Read moreThe restaurant was OK for once to try it but I wouldn t come back unless they improved it on all the fronts . ..waiter had a poor english so it was not easy to communicate, food was not brought at once, plates were not all removed after finnishing meal etc. Ambience felt too cold like some basement or storage room with kitchy colourful decoration:)the concept of mix of Czech cuisine and peruvian cuisine is weird. I think they should focus on Peruvian only and replace Czech pork knuckle that can be found in bambilion restaurants all over Prague with maybe some traditional soups. I have nothing to compare it with since I ve never been to Peru but Lomo saltado was a bit too salty and sour for our taste...3 of us had this meal and we all agreed on it. Peruvian lemonade and coctail was very good. I think it has a potential but still a lot of...
Read moreDisastrous. After a nice first visit with excellent cocktails, we went back to eat. The first two dishes we wanted to order were out of stock. So, after ordering 2 cocktails, I had the beef burrito and my partner, after reviewing the menu, a beef lomo. The cocktails followed by the burrito arrived very quickly. I ate the whole burrito, sharing it a little with my partner, because his dish hadn't arrived (it was the same at the table next to us). In the end, I went to see the waiter about the lomo, he had forgotten to send it to the kitchen. My partner, exasperated by this interminable wait for nothing, canceled his order and we left without him having eaten. What a lack of professionalism from the waiter who never worried about our lomo or apologized for...
