Restaurace U Libuše — Restaurant in Prague

We are tourists and visited this restaurant for the second time because we were very satisfied with the service and the price-performance ratio during our first visit. The blonde waitress was especially attentive and friendly.

Unfortunately, our second visit left us with a negative impression. We had to wait about 35 minutes for our order, which was disappointing. It was so noisy that I could not hear my partner, we had to scream to hear each other. Moreover, it felt as if they deliberately tried to deceive us simply because we were not locals. When we left the restaurant, we noticed that the brunette waitress had overcharged us by 200 CZK. It's not about the amount, it's the principle that when people see you're a tourist, they immediately try to scam you. We didn’t want to make a scene, but it left us with a very unpleasant feeling.

As soon as we paid the bill, the waitress came over within a minute. We hadn't even finished our drinks yet, but since a large group of new customers had just entered the restaurant, she started moving our table to combine it with others to make a larger one.

It was strange because there were completely empty tables in the dining area.

We felt cheated – and this happened on our last evening in Prague. Thank you for ruining our impression of the city!!!

I'm not sure if I would want to visit again, despite the food being delicious, as the attitude of the staff plays a significant role in the overall experience, and it was completely ruined for us.

If you do decide to visit this restaurant, keep an eye on the prices so you don't get tricked...

Very nice place. 02.11.2023. Was here for the first time with a friend. Cozy and not pretentious. Delicious, homemade Czech cuisine at an affordable price. My husband ordered the knuckle and was delighted. I always have a hard time choosing food. But Restaurace U Libuše made me feel like I was visiting a Czech family where the hostess prepared a delicious lunch. Thank you very much chefs. I advise all tourists not to be lazy and definitely visit this establishment. Firstly, you will have a very tasty meal, and secondly, you will save a couple of tens of euros. Moreover, it is not far from Vyšehrad.

Erg mooie plek. 02.11.2023. Was hier voor de eerste keer met een vriend. Gezellig en niet pretentieus. Heerlijke, zelfgemaakte Tsjechische gerechten tegen een betaalbare prijs. Mijn man bestelde de knokkel en was opgetogen. Ik vind het altijd moeilijk om eten te kiezen. Maar bij Restaurace U Libuše voelde het alsof ik op bezoek was bij een Tsjechische familie waar de gastvrouw een heerlijke lunch bereidde. Hartelijk dank chef-koks. Ik raad alle toeristen aan om niet lui te zijn en dit etablissement zeker te bezoeken. Ten eerste heb je een zeer smakelijke maaltijd en ten tweede bespaar je enkele tientallen euro's. Bovendien ligt het niet ver van Vyšehrad.

Очень приятное место. 02.11.2023. были здесь впервые с другом. Уютно и не пафосно. Вкусная, домашня чешская кухня за доступную цену. Муж заказал рульку и был в восторге. Мне всегда не легко с выбором еды. Но Restaurace U Libuše я ощутила себя в гостях чешской семьи где хозяйка приготовила вкусный обед. Спасибо большое повару. Я советую всем туристам не поленитесь обязательно посетите это заведение. Во первых вы очень вкусно покушаете, а во вторых пару десятков евро сэкономите. Тем более он находится не далеко от Vyšehrad.

We were not expecting the quality and generous volume of food at this price range. Amazingly tasty pork knee (yes knee, not knuckle) that has an amazing crispy outer layer, as well as usual Czech menu items that are a lot better than other places I have been. Probably the pork knee portion suits two adults to share, so before ordering make sure you are up for it! The staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. I will return with my guests again. One note, wheelchair not accessible from the front door, and I don't know if there is a...
