TLDR: Tourist trap, do not recommend!
I had a short lay over in Copenhagen for couple hours. I did some research where I could find affordable and tasty food. Because of the many good google reviews I gave this burger place a try today. I ordered two burgers (a cheeseburger and a butter burger, no sides, nothing to drink, just two burgers). They charged 200 dkr. After I paid the bill I translated it into Euro: it was approx. 27€!!! Ridiculous amount of money for two normal-sized burgers! The cheeseburger had a weird sauce and tasted ok, but not great by any stretch of the imagination. The butter burger was a complete joke. It was just the bun, the patty and a few, sad slices of onions. No cheese, no pickles (like on the pictures)! It did not have any sauce or something else to make the taste more interesting! Just a very oily patty. Not even McDonalds would serve a burger this bad. Especially, for this kind of money it was a complete rip-off!! Furthermore, the Gasoline Grill did not have any chairs or tables. You have to get the food as a take-away and then find a place to eat some where else. I ended up eating the burgers in the backyard of the nearby church which felt weird and slightly inappropriate. Extremely disappointing lunch break which financially almost ruined me. For half the price, the quality of the food would be acceptable, but this is a waste of money, time and opportunity to try...
Read moreThe food was okay in terms of taste, like a good fast-food. But I think it's a joke that for the same price you get either a meat patty or 4 slices of grilled zucchini xd
and if u want some plant-based protein you have to pay extra (cause u know, those zucchini slices have already exceeded the budget available for each burger)
edit: I'll respond here to your answer
Broski, if your menu was like the one on your website where it's clearly visible that each burger can be with meat or with matr(?) that would be fine. But for some reason you opted for a more confusing option with information that you can exchange meat patty for matr(?) located outside of burger list - and the only indication that it's free is the lack of a tiny number next to this information.
Also, u claim that many of your guests enjoy that approach of the only burger meatless by the default is with some zucchini in place of meat patty. I dunno, I suspect that most of the vegan/vegetarians still prefers sth even remotely similar to meat patty when they want to eat a burger over yet another veggie being added to their burger. Can you even call a bun with veggies and sauce...
Read moreThis did not live up to the expectations set by the glowing reviews. We arrived at 6 pm on a Sunday and the staff informed us they were out of fries. No problem, we were here to try an alleged top 25 burger in the world.
We ordered the original with cheese and a few minutes later we were holding a delicious looking burger. A few bites in and disappointment started to set in. The bun was great, the meat was clearly fresh, but something was missing. The predominant flavors were from the onions and the dried peppercorns that were ground on the meat while cooking. The meat was somewhat bland, maybe cooking it at a higher temperature would allow the outside to scorch and caramelize a bit. The burger was missing something acidic to balance the fats.
It wasn't until another patron that ordered just before us asked the staff that they admitted to having run out of tomatoes and rationing the small amount of gasoline sauce left between our six burgers. It's possible this burger can live up to expectations on a good day, but without consistency I can't recommend that a visitor to Copenhagen come here when there are so many other great...
