My recent visit to HIAN - Vietnamese Eatery with three friends left us with mixed feelings. While the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly, the dining experience was significantly marred by issues with portion sizes and pricing.
I ordered the pho, which was quite good. The flavor was excellent, and the portion was moderate—just enough to be satisfying without being overwhelming. However, my three friends' experiences were a stark contrast. They ordered various entrees, and we were all taken aback by how incredibly small the portions were.
For approximately 160 DKK, including an extra charge for rice, the meals were shockingly undersized. The rice bowl was only about 8 cm across, holding a very small amount of rice. The plate for the entree was roughly 12 cm in diameter, and the "entree" itself consisted of only about four normal-sized bites of food. It felt more like a tiny appetizer than a proper dinner entree. For the price, this was extremely disappointing and left my friends feeling hungry.
Another point of contention was the charge for water. Despite ordering beers, we were charged 120 DKK for four glasses of tap water (not bottled). This seemed exorbitant and completely unjustified, especially considering we were already paying for other beverages.
In summary, while the pho was enjoyable and the restaurant itself was aesthetically pleasing with kind staff, the incredibly small portion sizes for the entrees and the ridiculous charge for tap water are major deterrents. We will most certainly not be...
Read moreI was suprised that it has 4.5 stars on google maps. My experience is different. The first thing is that once the greeted and led us by our table I needed to ask for menu twice. Once you chose what to eat, you should mark on a special paper. They recommend to order 3 per person, for me beef pho was pretty enough. Then we got our meals pretty fast in like 10-15 minutes: 2 pho, eggs, rice. But after 20 minutes we realised that other part of our ordered food was missing, when we asked - they went to check. The later they again approached us and asked if the food was okay - where is explanation about situation? It wasn't okay to pretend that everything is good. As we need to head to airport and didn't want to wait for another hour, as the place got busy while we were seating. But how it is possible to miss meals when the place is super empty and not to get us menu once we got seated? We could understand if they apologize about missing meals, but why they started again making without asking us if we have time? We left the bowl of rice that we wanted to eat with chicken and asked to cancel other meals, as we didn't want to wait more. Service is terrible to be honest,...
Read moreReview from Chef particularly for Vietnamese cuisine for 6 years,
We were there with my 2 other friends. The concept was very cool and asian. You get small small dishes which you could share with your friends. 5-6 dishes per person was recommendation. we ordered 15 in total with dessert and got Saigon beer which was awesome.
All the starters: buddha rolls, shrimps were so good, loved the dressing and sauce you made with peanut for rolls.
We also got beef Pho, veg main, curry, pork crispy they were awesome. The concept was making so much sense. All foods must be tried, awesome shuttle taste.
Only one thing we got a bottle of water and that was 87 Kroner. Other than that everything was perfect.
Definitely recommended.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
