Il_Mattarello
First and foremost I would like to extend my most sincere appreciation to Anna, Helena and Andrea. I came to Il_Mattarello after Rosa, my roommate from Venice, told me how much the food reminded her of home. Italian people have a special connection to food and if one of them recommends a venue, you can trust them. Anna and Helena answered all my questions and seem to enjoy working together for which translate to great service for the customer. Il_mattarello presents itself as an “Artisan and Pasta Lab”, and it shows in the simplicity, elegance and taste in their food. Andrea, cooked my meal and delivered it with a smile on his face as to say, “Prepare yourself for a beautiful surprise”. As I write this review, the term “Artisan” makes sense. My mother always told me that great food starts with love, passion and the need for you to let the ingredients speak for themselves. I ordered the Pomodoro for which has a tomato based sauce, no cheese so I could focus on the ingredient and the spices. The flavor that emanated from the Pomodoro told me everything I needed to know, happiness has a name. Pasta has in itself a comfort, especially great pasta that takes you back in time and reminds you of those great meals with family and friends with laughter all around. Everyone has a different appreciation on how they like their Pasta, some want it soft, others like it hard. I prefer it Al Dente, exactly like Andrea made it. I could write about my experience for hours and what it meant to me but you need to go to Il_Mattarello and go...

From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant’s open kitchen allows patrons to witness the magic as fresh pasta is prepared right in front of their eyes. This unique touch adds an extra layer of authenticity and excitement to the meal.
The menu offers a variety of classic Italian dishes, each crafted with the freshest organic ingredients. We tried several pasta dishes, and each one was a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauces were rich and flavorful, reminiscent of homemade meals from Italy.
My wife and kids absolutely loved the experience. The children were particularly fascinated by the pasta-making process, and the friendly staff made us feel right at home. It's clear that Il Mattarello is dedicated to providing not just a meal, but a culinary journey that families can enjoy together.
In summary, Il Mattarello is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine in Copenhagen. With its freshly made pasta, organic ingredients, and family-friendly atmosphere, it’s no wonder this restaurant has been a favorite since its opening. We can’t wait to return for another...
Read moreWe were invited for Saturday lunch and this place was selected for the good reviewers . We ordered carbonara and the pasta of the days. We received a very salty and far away from al dente more like raw and not eatable at all, we do too like al dente pasta unfortunately this was not the case. We asked politely if they will create a new portion but they totally refused, they will charge us again if the kitchen were to recreate this not eatable pastas. As this really were very salty and really not cooked and very difficult to eat we told them if they could not make us a new batch it was better to throw it into the bin. They took our plates never replaced it and said it was not the kitchens fault so they will not make new pltes of pasta. A very disappointed experience and very rude service neglecting a polite inquiry as even in the best of kitchen a fault or mistake can happen. We are truly sorry to write a review thats not recommendable, we paid for 3 portion got nothing to eat and left with an empty and sad feeling. So no...
