Food was alright but service poor. Went there with my partner about 2-3 weeks ago. We came in in the last 1h before closing on a Wednesday and were 1 out of 2 tables in this restaurant, so was really not busy. Inititially, the waitress came 2 times to take our order when we clearly werent ready (carefully reading the menu). Then we were ready to order shortly after but she didn't come for another 10min even though we were visibly ready (menus put down and we were waiting). She came and asked if its ok to take our menus away without taking our order. We thought she is going to come back in a second but she didnt so we went to ask of we can order and we were able to. After the food, we were drinking the wine and we were told by the waitress from another restaurant (those 2 restaurants apparently share the outside area) that they are closing down the outside area and we need to be going soon. We drank our wine promptly but were yet again waiting long time to get the bill and pay. Lastly, the waitress presented us with the card reader that was requesting a tip in Dutch so I (i was paying) was confused as I didn't see an option to not pay a tip (I assessed that I was not happy to pay the tip for such poor service) but my partner pressed the button of 10% tip. The reason I am writing this review is that I am not happy to have paid that tip as the service provided was lacking in attention to customers while there was just 1 other table in. I understand that it was my partners wrongdoing and I took it up with him, but this situation of the tip being so undeserved bothered me so much i decided to give a review after that whole time. It's really not about the money, just pay more attention to your customers- having worked in hospitality that is a basic skill servers...
Read moreI see a lot of negative reviews here, however I do not recognize much of what has been said. I took my partner out for valentines last night and had chosen Limone Piazza as they had a very reasonably priced pescatarian 5 course menu.
When we arrived the entire restaurant had been themed for the romantic day, red colours and rose pedals everywhere, even the "butter tray" was heart shaped. We arrived just as they opened, hence the place was empty. Our waiter seemed a bit nervous, but performed his duties well, offering us drinks, bread and water. Not long after the first course arrived.
We're started with a lobster soup, which was perfectly seasoned, had deep flavours and was creamy, and to add the portion was very generous.
Next was a tuna carspaccio which again was beautiful, well seasoned and arrived I a timely manner.
To follow the cold course up we were served a homemade ravioli, served this mussels, squid and shrimp. Again the seasoning was amazing and the textures a joy.
Moving forward we were served the main course consisting of cod with a saffron sauce, shrimp, some vegetables and potatoes. The fish was great, perfectly cooked and just a joy. Since the portions are very generous both my partner and I were about to give up on eating more as we were truly full from everything we'd been served.
However we still had dessert coming and my my, the Tiramisu presented to us was visually pleasing and as everything else we'd had it tasted excellent.
All in all this was one of the best dining experience I've had in a while. We had a few cocktails during the course of the meal and chose only to order off of the menu. I think they may have been premixed. They tasted good with a reasonable amount of alcohol, but were a bit to sweet...
Read moreWe had dinner here at Limone Piazza on Sunday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I would like to express my gratitude to our waiter (the owner?) and the chef for a wonderful experience. The restaurant was fully booked. Everyone was really busy but we never felt hurried. Outside seats are lovely and looking on to a beautiful square. However, as it was getting a bit chilly we asked to sit inside and were given an elegant table next to a large window. As it turned out we were the only guests inside and it felt like we had a private room all to ourselves. In fact, we were treated like royalty. We ordered “chef‘s starters” to share, a large assortment of ham, sausage and cheese. My wife had plaice and I had lamb. Both were delicious. We also shared an excellent bottle of Sicilian wine. To top it off we were given complimentary Sicilian brandy. Once again, thank you to everyone who made this a memorable evening for us! We highly recommend Limone...
