Authentic traditional sushi with a good variety of nigiri options that are not available in any other sushi restaurant in CPH, except Anaba. The only downside is the exorbitant prices when ordering nigiri by the piece. Unfortunately, CPH is not a city where having authentic sushi like Hotate, Amaebi, Ikura and Uni regularly is a financially viable decision. Hotate and Amaebi were 45 kr per piece, and Akami was 70 kr per piece. Unfortunately they were sold out of Uni and Ikura, but they were similarly highly priced. In the picture in the review, the left plate was individually ordered nigiri, amounting to about 370 kr. The lunch set on the right was only 155 kr, but it doesn't have the more rare sushi pieces and focused on salmon, tuna, and futomaki. I really wish there was more competition in the traditional sushi category to bring the prices down a notch. The sea of sushi restaurants in CPH like Iki Sushi and Letz Sushi only serve what I call "danish-american" style sushi focused on rolls, salmon, tuna and "mystery white fish". All in all, if you are really craving sushi as it's prepared in Japan, Selfish is a good option, just not an affordable one.

We had a large sushi platter and vegetarian dumpling for sharing between two people. The portion size was OK, but we found the rice to be served too warm to our preference. Compared to other sushi experiences, we have never had it this warm before and thus a bit unusual to us. Not sure if it was a one-off, or if this is how sushi is made at Selfish. The fish seemed fresh and tasted nice, besides two slices of what we thought may have been tuna steak that was slightly grilled to the surface. It was a little chewy and had an off flavour. The vegetarian dumpling was unfortunately a little bland og hard to distinguish the flavors of the filling, it was more like a flavourless vegetable mash. The restaurant space is small with only a few tables. We had a table outside, on street level. It is hard to rate atmosphere, as both the indoor and outdoor space is very plain, nothing special or unique. Sitting outside you must enjoy watching people and traffic close up. Service was great and the staff was very friendly.

The sushi are amazing. We ordered two large lunch set of 160kr and we got 13 pieces, and I am not disappointed. They were very fresh! I love the tuna, scallop and salmon. The only not so nice experience is the service. They have a policy not to bring water from outside. In my case, I always brought my tumbler for hot water and because of rainy days I didnt order (cold) drinks. And not so long after we ordered, the staff from the kitchen came to our table and said more or less to me "Ah so because of this (my tumbler), you didnt order drinks. We cant make profit if you didnt order drinks". There were more words, but I couldn't remember as it was already too shocking and very embarrassing. Even it took quite a while for me to keep my own emotional state back to "normal" so I would not cried. The worst day in 2024. And I strongly believe, there are a lot of better ways to socialize the policy, esp in loving and respectful way.

I was extremely excited to try this restaurant given the high ratings - however, I felt that the ratings are not accurate. Firstly, it is housed in a typical small takeaway restaurant - three tables with a max occupancy of 8pax. Basic ambience so nothing special. Japanese owners and servers - nothing to shout about the service but nothing to complain either. The food - well, it was not as great as what the the others reviewers have commented. The only saving point was the sashimi / sashimi nigiri(s). It was very good and fresh with thick cuts of sashimi. The others, not so much. We ordered the XL set and tempura maki to share. The tempura maki was unfortunately utterly disappointing - it was cold, tasteless and soggy. It should have not been served if that was the quality they were offering. The other maki(s) in the set was of subpar quality as well. The only thing worth having is the sashimi and sashimi nigiri. It is quite a pity because the restaurant has so much potential but the supporting side dishes were a...
