Trattoria SUD — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

One of my worst experiences with a restaurant. We were there with 6 people and a toddler. I didn't get a confirmation via sms or mail when I made the reservation on the website. That's why I called and asked for confirmation. I specifically pointed out that we were 6 people and a toddler. I was assured that this was not a problem. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was only one table for 6 people and no high chair. The chef, Raphela, ordered that seven of us had to sit in 6 seats or we could leave. But it got even worse: we ordered as wine a well rated Brunello. The waiter came with an already opened bottle (!) of another Brunello, which is much worse rated. He said that the other is sold out and they now just serve that! For the toddler we ordered a saffron risotto without King Prawns. When we paid, we realized that the full price of 225 dkk was charged. Raphaela told me that there would be no reduction as it was not her fault if we did not want the King Prawns. Had we known this, we would have taken the meal with King Prawns. The 3 menus offered are not recommended. The portions are extremely small except for the appetizer and the price savings are much too small as a result. The fish soup costs 50 dkk extra, although in the menu card only 10 dkk is indicated! In general, the restaurant is very tight seating. You can hardly move around without disturbing the other guests. In addition, the toilets are completely worn and...

The place is nice and cosy, easy to access as really close to norreport. It started well. Good welcoming, the waitress was super. Explained everything, really welcoming. Then the food arrived. I took the burrata as a starter. The burrata was good, but second bite … an hair was in the food. It can happen and they apologised and replaced the food. And then the place got busy a bit and everyone looks so disorganised… we waited a long time for people to just notice us and remove the plates. Same circus for the bill. They made a mistake and explain and correct it. Ok. But then again a lot waiting time to pay ! And nothing about the hair, no commercial gesture, nothing at all ! Really bad for the reputation. The truffle pasta are good. They put the fresh truffle on front of you. It s nice to see. Overall disappointed about the all experience in general more negative than positive because the messy atmosphere went over the food that was good and good quality, and this hair that at the end was not really taken care of on the « good service point of view » And again good positive point for the waitress. Instead of the usual 3-course dinner, Trattoria Sud serves 4-course dinner with a canape starter, which was a great idea for us the hungry guests.

The food was overall very good. I like the risotto balls and the scampi appetizer and the pasta best. The cuvette was also good but I feel like they could do better. The dessert (orange crumble on chocolate mouse was fantastic tho).

The serving was great, it was a busy night, and the restaurant tried to entertain us with someone playing a guitar and singing a song, giving us (almost) vibe of Italy, now that it's COVID times and nobody can really travel there.

One star down because the ambience wasn't not that nice, it was noisy (because it was full house, obviously to the delight of the restaurants) and we sat almost in the middle of everything with the waiters cris-crossing our path. It was hard to have a decent conversation that we almost shouted at each other. But then again, this is during the Dining Week, I'd say during normal times, it would probably better and you could probably ask for a...
