Bluefin — Restaurant in Odense Kommune

One of the best sushi places in the city in my opinion. The service is extremely good, the sushi that they offer is quite tasty. The nigiri salmon and tuna were with extremely fresh fish, so fresh it literally melts in your mouth. So if you go there make sure to order that one - it's a must. The waitress gave us puffed chips while we wait, explained to us about their best offers and made sure we have everything we need. She was really kind and this was one of the times where I felt the service required a really good tip.

Sushi Variety: it has relatively good variety, perhaps some place have a bit more types (though I didnt feel I lacked something), but what they offer is at a really good consistent quality. You have standard nigiri options, some more unique ones, veggy options, california rolls, also options with duck and you can check what is available also on their website.

Price range: good price to value, definitely recommend the pick n mix (or the way some people call it "all you can eat"), they also had an "all you can drink" offer and even though I drank only one soda, the waitress recommended it as it was cheaper than getting the soda, props to the waitress for that

Presentation: the sushi is quite presentable, looks good and the size is appropriate, you can check the pictures for reference

Taste: Really good. My favorite ones were: Nigiri Tuna, Nigiri Salmon, Dynamite, Rainbow and Sparking Ebi. I tried the crunchy types, samurai and the duck, they were also good but they were slightly lower in my preferences.

Atmosphere: We went quite early and there werent that many guests in the beginning, but it was nice, the tables were clean, and it was...

Well, we usually go to another sushi restaurant here in Odense when we want excellent sushi, but some weeks ago we decided to try Bluefin... what a mistake.

First off... the interior of the place reminded me of the inside of a mausoleum... very dark, very depressing, brownish tiles, bad acoustics and not at all cozy. Furthermore, the 2 cooks making sushi looked like they'd rather be wasting their time anywhere else but here.

Well, we tried to ignore the interior and the general atmosphere of the place and ordered our food. Starters were OK, but far from special. Then the sushi was served... again nothing special at all and the fish didn't seem fresh. We also had some tataki which first of all wasn't seared enough and secondly didn't taste like fresh fish at all.

After finishing our meal we opted for a dessert... some chocolate cake. Wow, I spent almost 10 minutes trying to figure out what that taste reminded me of and then it hit me... the smell of old library books.

What an evening... and an expensive one at that. Maybe we've been spoiled when we had sushi in our preferred and excellent sushi joint in Odense... maybe we just came too close to paradise when we ate Toyo-san's street sushi in Osaka... or maybe we just went to Sushi Zanmai one time too many, but Bluefin has to seriously consider upping their sushi game or find other ways to make a living... as...

Great food, but make sure you check with the restaurant after ordering online is any way. They've got some really bad issues with managing orders and not being late.

I ordered and paid through Wolt, had them accept the order, and when I turned up they had no idea I even ordered anything. I had to call Wolt, had them call the restaurant, had the Wolt employee tell me to tell them to pick up their phone because they weren't responding to his calls, and then wait an additional 30 minutes for my order.

I'm not sure if the flaw is on their end or Wolts for the order going wrong, or if it was this stressful and busy because of Christmas, but it's not the first time my order has been delayed here and I witnessed people have their working orders delayed for a long, long time as well.

I won't stop ordering from here because their food is awesome, but I hope...
