The View - Punta Cana — Restaurant in Higüey

We came here because it was the closest restaurant to our hotel and it had good reviews. We knew it was rather pricey so we expected a good meal. We were also both quite hungry. We were seated and then waited for about 15 mins for someone to take our order(the place was almost completely empty). After the long wait I found a server and placed a drink order. After another really long wait our(bad) cocktails arrived with some bread. Actually thank goodness for the bread, as it made me reconsider ordering mains even though we were hungry, as the bread was old, awful and sever with only pesto from a jar(definitely not home made). Old bread with just pesto? Disgusting. We then decided to go for appetizers and decide if it’s worth ordering mains. We were served after about 30 mins. I ordered the most expensive appetizer on the menu- about 26usd with taxes. Steak tartare New York. You can see it on the photo attached. The presentation was just as nasty as the taste…inedible! I ate a bite and left what’s on the photo. My mom’s tempura was oily and not great, but we were starving so we shared her’s and didn’t touch mine. The waiter didn’t ask us at any stage if we like what we ordered also when he was clearing the plate. He just gave us the hefty check. PLEASE DON’T EAT HERE. It’s a trap. Can’t remember last time I was so dissapointed with my meal. Edit- the reataurant answered and lied in their answer. Two days earlier I made a booking ONCE, it is true. It was the day my mom was flying into Punta Cana and her flight was so late that the reataurant wasn’t open long enough to serve us. I tried to call to cancel but nobody answered the phone. I then made an effort to walk to the restaurant to cancel. Most people wouldn’t care. Yes, we changed the table as it was incredibly windy. As for the other comment that I should have said something about my bad meal, of course I did, but the server just didn’t care and brought the check. What more could I do? Thank god the photo of the food...

Went to The View to celebrate a special occasion and left with a bad taste in my mouth that wasn’t food related! Whilst the food was adequate, there was very little care given to the customer experience.

We waited more than an hour for our meal, and then another 10 minutes for cutlery and plates. The atmosphere was ruined by staff who were unable to look past their pride.

I can understand paying above market prices for fantastic food and service, but this place missed the mark on both, and we left upset with poor service and a mandatory service charge for unsatisfactory service.

If you expect a gratuity, we expect adequate service in return. Opportunities were given to make this right when we spoke directly to staff before our food even arrived due to the long wait time and they still missed the mark.

It felt like they knew they wouldn't see us again, so why bother with good service. Not a great feeling for an...

Natalia, Julie, and the entire team were absolutely amazing - so kind, fast responses, and put everything together so beautifully! The flowers were gorgeous, the food and drinks were amazing, I have no complaints and thought everything was 10/10! Even the Dj and MC were so great! Natalia actually ran home to grab a hairdryer for us while we were getting ready and had a slight emergency. Couldn’t recommend this team and venue enough! They went over every minor detail, made everyone comfortable and helped us and our guests have the best time ever! The rooftop is gorgeous, a perfect place for pictures and the pool is such a fun...
