Johnny's Pub — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

I think we enjoyed ourselves mostly because we were a large group that took the whole second level to ourselves for a private event. Otherwise, I would never willingly come to this place myself. It's a tiny spot, and they are not picky at all about who they let in. They even told us, after we specified a guest list and requested they ensure no one else be allowed to enter our private party, that anyone who asks for us they'd just let on up. Huh?

Music was alright, a lot of trendy Arabic songs mixed with the usual repetitive thumping bass, but they had some really great dance tunes sprinkled in between. We brought our own bottles, which I normally recommend to places like this if you can manage that. My experience with drinks offered in restobars in Egypt has been a complete and utter disappointment. They will charge you the full proper amount for a classy drink, but they'll give you the cheap labels, or they'll put like a teaspoon instead of what's actually required in the recipe. Be picky about what you order if you're not bringing your own stuff.

The belly dancer was great. Super fun and cute and actually danced as opposed to being theatrical and dramatic or doing obviously rehearsed moves like she's in a pageant. It's been a minute since I've seen a real dancer do her thing! Also knows how to work a crowd and her outfits were 🔥🔥🔥

Loved the food options. Egyptian/MENA cuisine, primarily. The atmosphere is meh... like I said, had it not been a private event away from the regular customers, I would not have stepped foot in this place. But great company changes everything!

Update : I had a call from the manager Mr. Alaa a very reactive professional and nice person. He fixed the issue and apologised for the rudeness of the employee handling the reservation. I want to thank him for doing a great job. Very low class place. Reservation team is the worst. Rude persons. As foreigner I just send a very formal message to reserve for a group of ladies.Answer is NO. Not even a hello we decline wich we can understand. They simply wrote NO 🤣 maybe they just don't understand that a woman can pay for herself and don't need a man to be with her to enter a "club" that's how business...

My birthday party took place in Johnnys yesterday and the min charge 350 per person and 400 for bottle's When we decide to go we find out that I have to pay 1200 LE extra aside of the 1000 deposit that I paid earlier Couz they says we didn't pay min change But actually what happened is When people started to leave they ordered separate chiqs and Johnny's didn't deducte it from total chiq and made us pay twice What kind of service is this Totally not recommend place unless you re looking to be scammed...
