Stage El Nile — Restaurant in Giza

A very bad experience that I will never repeat again. Unfortunately, I had booked with the management of the place and paid the full amount a month before the boat reservation date. To my surprise, when I arrived, there was no staff member to receive me or guide me to the boat. We had to wait for 15 minutes until someone showed up to take us there. And then came the shock — the boat was full of dust. The rose petals on the table and on the floor were extremely old and messy, covered in dust. The table itself was unstable and shook with every movement of the boat, and it was also dusty. The chairs were in very bad condition and even damaged the clothes.

The food took half an hour to arrive, which cut into the time we had on the boat. When the boat finally started moving, it suddenly stopped because it ran out of fuel. The person steering the boat tried to get fuel from another boat, and after adding it, he sped up quickly, which made the whole experience worse.

As for the food, only the pizza tasted good. The drinks were very bad and extremely sugary, and the desserts were hot and tasted...

I stumbled upon Stage in Cairo while looking for a time machine, and honestly, I think I found it. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the undeniable scent of gentrification—freshly ground coffee, overpriced avocado toast, and the distant sound of someone explaining NFTs. A true sensory delight.

The ambiance? Impeccable. Exposed brick walls that scream “we used to be a warehouse, but now we serve matcha.” Dim lighting that makes every conversation sound deep, even if you’re just debating whether soup is a beverage. And in the corner? A little orange cat. He didn’t work there, but he knew things. He stared into my soul, and I think I left with less debt.

The food? Oh, it exists. The croissant was so flaky it ghosted me after one bite. The espresso shot tasted like it had dreams of being in an art gallery. And the hummus? It was there.

Overall, Stage is the perfect spot for when you want to feel like you’re in Brooklyn but still hear the honking of Cairo traffic. Would I return? Only if the orange...
