Worst Hotel Ever!!! Stayed there recently in March 2016. There was no airport pick up arranged and the guy at reception whom I assume was the owner was very arrogant. They also don't have change so make sure you have the right amount of money to pay them if you are so insane to even consider staying there. That place is a health hazard. When you look down at the floor once you open the lift door you can see the street below!!!!! and as you go up towards the sixteenth floor you can see the passageways of all the other floors as the lift has no door like normal lifts do. Apart from it being in Egypt which is essentially a dessert It wouldn't hurt to arrange for someone to at least dust the place before guests arrive. Hotel management..... oops sorry there is no such thing!!!!!!! You have to figure out yourself what is going on with regards to breakfast and so on. We had to go find our own breakfast because apparently breakfast only opens at 9am!!!! Plus you can expect only one towel for two people in a room with two separate beds!!! Asking for an extra towel also doesn't help as you get toiletpaper instead!!! I would suggest that people rather save more money and stay at the Pyramisa Suites Hotel had dinner there and it was absolutely great...
Read moreI stayed here for my last night in Cairo for the location. Really close to the metro that gets you around quickly and for little money. The hotel has a rooftop with amazing views of the city and you can even see the pyramids. It’s a popular bar with locals at night and gets very busy. The rooms are very basic but have a fridge and kettle. The place has seen much better days but the mattress was actually really comfortable and my linens/sheets and towels were spotless and of good quality. There’s no hairdryer but soap and shampoo. Hot water was readily available and the aircon worked perfectly. Hotel staff is very friendly but has limited English. The location and rooftop are major draw cards but the rooms are the bare minimum. Overall I didn’t mind staying for one night which served my purposes but it’s not where you want to base yourself for a longer stay. The neighbourhood felt safe even at night, the elevator has some issues but staff will be...
Read moreStayed at the El Tonsy with a group of 20 people for one night. The rooms were clean and tidy. The view was exceptional. The staff were outstanding. We arrived during a rolling blackout (no fault of the facility) and the staff worked hard to get us taken care of despite the darkness. We were taken to our rooms via lifts in another building (three at a time due to limited size) using torches, and after putting our bags down, were immediately taken to the patio where we were treated to a welcome drings and a view of Cairo and the Nile from our darkened area. This actually turned out to be quite a nice memory. Dinner was very nice - a bit slow/late, but we were a large group so it expected and we actually didn't mind the wait because the view and staff were so nice and we were having such...
