Like: Concierge 💁♀️ is really pleasant and cordial. Same with adjacent restaurant staff. Clean bathroom and room. I was concerned checking in here on how clean the room would be based on past reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The view from my room was of the Nile which was really cool! Outlets near the bed (win!) to charge phones. Quiet hotel overall in terms of other guests.
Dislike 👎: Oh gosh. So much unfortunately. I think the staff tries but they miss the mark. An English language barrier is still really apparent, which means my leftovers I left at the front desk the previous night got thrown away. At initial room check-in, there isn’t even a full toilet roll given. I mean, really?! The towels are the WORST I’ve ever had in a budget hotel. Thin and stringy and barely cover oneself (and I’m slender!). I ran out of toilet roll and told the front desk in the AM… still nothing there I got back to the room in the evening. And had to call the front desk TWICE to finally get it 👎There should be more opaque curtains for the windows as light comes streaming in early. There is no window double-glazing so the dulled roar of traffic is clearly heard outside (I was in room 808). The bed is pretty hard, as are the pillows. thin top coverlet (but duvets in the closet). Finally, Wifi was pretty slow and upload speed awful- and I had the best wifi it seems compared to others who had none or abysmal. No hot shower water later in the AM and only a bit warmer in the PM. The included breakfast is ok: an omelette option and some cakey bread; coffee; tea; OJ. The accompanying restaurant has some hit or miss food: I loved the eskander beans as it was a stew; the dolma was pretty bland. One of my fellow group members said her green soup was terrible. Service was very slow and food took ages to arrive. The location is far from Coptic or Islamic...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel during 3 years from October till June every month by group of several rooms. And till November int was successfully. In the end of November we was accommodated in very old and dirty rooms on 9th floor. Rooms full of black hair in bathrooms and on the pillows, dust on surfaces, not cleaned floor. After several discussions they changed rooms for us. We decided to give hotel one more chave and came again. Now we are accomodated in the same dirty rooms with hair, dust, water lickage in toilet, no Wifi in the rooms and without balcony. While I'm smocking and need balcony, coz I can't smoke inside my room while there is my daughter - teenager. Reception promised to change the room at 11 am. At 11 am they said room will be changed at 2 pm. At 2 pm I heard sorry there is no availability. And no one care that it's abnormal to stay in room with such problems, to walk to smoke to public coridor... Even plumber didn't come to fix lickage, I don't even talk that someone reclean the room and change pillow cases or wash the floor... Pharaoh's hotel lost any professionalism, any knowledges about guest treatment and hospitality specially to regular clients. Is clean room with balcony too much what I ask??? Fully disappointed,...
Read moreRoom and Amenities|The room was moderately comfortable, but the air conditioning was problematic. Despite the cold weather in Cairo in December, the AC only provided cold air, and the filter was clogged with dust, indicating a lack of maintenance.||Reception Service|The reception staff were a mixed experience. While one staff member was diplomatic and courteous, another displayed poor customer service. When I requested a converter for a three-pin plug to fit the two-pin sockets used in Egypt and the hotel, I was told, "We are a three-star hotel, so we don't provide it. You can purchase one outside." This attitude highlights the need for better training in customer service.||Housekeeping|The housekeeping staff were excellent—professional, efficient, and attentive to details.||Dining Experience|The breakfast buffet on the 10th floor was a highlight of the stay. The food was of high quality, and the waitstaff were polite, professional, and exceptionally helpful.||Overall, while the hotel has strengths in housekeeping and dining, improvements in maintenance and customer service at reception are necessary to enhance the...
