El Mawardia — Restaurant in Giza

My cousin Ken and I had the extreme pleasure of dining at the El Mawardia restaurant at the Sheraton Hotel & Casino in Cairo, Egypt tonight. (11/14/2023) The restaurant is the epitome of comfortable elegance.

Our waiter was polite, charming, and attentive to every detail. My cousin had a wonderful meal of grilled beef, peppers, and onions, served with thin Egyptian bread. I ordered the meatballs with peppers, onions, and coriander in a tomato sauce. It came with a side of rice, and delicious Egyptian bread. I ahad Om Ali for dessert! It was sweet and savory! The food was a visual delight, and the taste divine! It was beyond superb! I stopped the Head Matre d, Khaled, who was visibly present and actively engaged with customers and the smooth operation of the restaurant. I shared with him how exquisitely delicious my meal was, and asked he share my compliments with the chef. He was very happy I was so satisfied with the meal. He said he and his team had been working very hard this past year in creating a wonderful dining experience for guests. They certainly achieved it! He told the chef how pleased I was with the food, who then came back out with Khaled to speak with me personally. I was honored to meet him! They let me have a picture taken with them both. I would not spend a penny in this place, the worst experience I’ve ever had since my visit to Egypt despite been in various night events such as Al Qasar horizon is the one the best place to be. Simply because they’re nice ppl know how to treat their customers Don’t waist your money cause they are a rip offs and some of the servants have no manner for their guests . They tell you something over the phone and then try to over charge you with extras among the deal and this not about the money it’s about the principles. I paid 3000 pounds and stayed for less than 2 hrs and left because of the matter...

It's a beautiful restaurant. Though it was hard to locate in the hotel. And it's not included in the list of restaurants that are there inside every elevator. Anyway, we loved the atmosphere and the service by our waiter Muhammad. He was extremely helpful and courteous. Food was not perfect but not bad either. I had ordered lamb kabobs.
