Gloria restaurant — Restaurant in Tallinn

This restaurant is FANTASTIC! What an amazing little gem in the heart of the old town. I just stumbled upon this place, literally built into (& beneath) the city walls. Open for almost a hundred years, & now I know why!

The food was delicious, very inexpensive for the quality/ flavor/ portions (I think their “lunch” special was only 19€ and served 2-6pm). But the most important piece of the puzzle here is the setting & the service. You really feel like you have stepped back in time, as you wander thru low stone walkways & eat at a candlelit antique table, right in front of a crackling wood fire in the hearth.

Service was impeccable, exactly the right balance of attentive without being smothering, & perfect english was spoken.

This is truly a beautiful space for a great meal (& the wine list is extensive). I can’t think of a better way to “chase off the chill” (I visited in winter) than eating here. GO! This spot is not...

The perfect restaurant, not just for Tallinn, but for that cozy feeling one looks for in the quaint hide-away old world dining experience. Fabulous selection of wines from arond the world. We had a 1955 Crimean white port that matched the quality of our desserts. And that all followed a top quality & prepared beef tenderloin (paired with a 2011 Negro Amaro)..wow..., no, WOOOOWW... if I could go there every night, I WOULD.. (BTW - we ate their 3 nights in a row and would have done a 4th but they are closed on Sundays). This a 5 star restaurant with 3 star prices and 5 star food and service. If you want to go out in the evening and eat, dance, but don't mind moving to different places, then Gloria is just right for you. This place, with a long history, has been updated into a place with a very interesting concept - you can enjoy a multi-course dinner there, while sensual dancers time-to-time come on stage.
